Interesting, has anyone taken an 18hr Civic Responsibility Course prior to Voting?

It would appear this type of requirement, is in direct conflict with the Bruen ruling! The 2nd Step hurdle/encumbrance required in order to exercise a Right. Especially if and when only newer applicants are required and those already possessing do not have to comply...

Yep. Had to otherwise it reverts a premise permit on my renewal.
Basically it's the NRA safety course that everyone has already taken with the addition of where you can't carry (significantly shorter list on where you can), article 35, 5 rounds on target ......or is it 4? Can't remember I just remember the single hole. They warned me afterwards so make separate holes. lol Oh, and draw and holster. No expiration on certificate. Renewal every 3 years for CCW and 5 fro premise.
I will say that the article 35 portion of it is important to understand. FORGET DISAGREEING WITH IT! I hate this saying but "it is what it is". Bruen isn't changing that. Your opinion on it isn't going to help you in court. Stay out of a NY court room by understand it as fucked up as it is.

Well, permits can't "revert to premises" like that, so I'd request a refund on the hours spent on article 400.

What I understand of the new law and from what Westchester County has said, a restricted or unrestricted "Carry" permit will becomes a "Premise" permit if an original 18 hours training certificate isn't submitted before expiration date of the permit for renewal. The new Carry permits will last three years and Premise permits five years.
To be clear, if you have a carry permit and send it in for renewal using the standard practice (old renewal method) without the required training cert, your permit will become a premise permit under the new law as any carry permit now requires proof of the 18 hour class.
In NY YOU DON"T GET LICENSED the gun does. That guns only authorized holder and location is you and your home. It's not like other states where you get licensed to carry any legal firearm. Like say the CT non residence license.
Anyway, if what I posted is incorrect, please post the correct information as I think it would be beneficial to those facing renewal of their permits.

I wasn't entirely correct. The CCIA was an ammendment to PL 400. It's in there.
