Heads up on a crazy shotgun

Sorry to bring up an old thread but I am looking to purchase a new shotgun and wanted something different from the norm. I see that these are now in the third generation and wonder how much they have improved? I can pick one up for about $675 and wonder if they are worth it or not?

From what I've heard they have improved. That's Kel Tec products in general. They had a reputation for shit quality, and have been taking considerable steps to fix that. However decades of "Kel Tec makes shit" does not go away in 7 years.
Honestly I'd say go for it. The ksg is probably one of the coolest guns you can own in NY.

Kel Tecs are hard to get a bead on. The quality levels seem to be inconsistent.
My last range trip I encountered two different people with Sub 2000s, ine claimed zero malfunctions in the few months he had it, the other said theirs was a jammomatic. Nevertheless of the various bulpup pump shotguns available the KSG design is the most mature. The only consensus I can glean is that the all seem to function reliably, whether that function is agreeable to you is up to you.

I really like how compact the 12 is over the 25. Plus you don't need 25 bullets to kill a dear anyway

Being that it's a bullpup design, it's like having an SBR. 26 inches overall length compared to the 40 inches a Mossberg or Remington gives you. That's a lot easier to handle indoors.

I liked mine but got rid of it after Safe. The old lady couldn't handle it reliably anyways so I got her a 9mm AR for the house.

I've got a Gen 2 KSG, and it performs well. Definitely a great home defense firearm. I'll have to check out the Gen 3.

Hell the Serbu and the like are cooler. More practical? No but way cooler! Just takes a bit more time to obtain one.

Pistol permit. I sent copy to my CLEO but not for approval.

I dropped about $2300 on the pair. But I just needed the breecher
