I’ve done the shooting indoors thing. Has anyone ever shot a supersonic through a can? If so, was it still pleasant to the ears? I’m curious.
Only have seen youtube testing but still............
Most supersonic rifle ammo is still above the 140db limit or right near it so I wouldn't consider it hearing safe but it would certainly help. However you are adding length and weight to your gun in a situation where being as short and handy as possible is a serious advantage. I'd rather just run with the ear muffs and a 14.5" gun.
As I've said in my other post I can shoot inside all day long. 556 supersonic btw. It all depends on the can. My Form 1 is very quiet. It's a 30 cal can. I made the blast chamber very long to reduce back pressure and also eliminate first round pop. The first shot is as quiet as following shots. If you get (or make) one of the shorty cans it will be a little more nimble but louder. Still better than nothing though. I'm glad I'm able to have cans where I live so I don't even have to worry about this hearing protection thing. Just flip the safe and ready to go.
