Hello from Queens NY

Hello all,

I'm AG and wanted to take the time to introduce myself.

Just moved back to NYC after living in PA for the last 16 years. I was actively involved in firearms training for the last 7+years, training and instructing law enforcement, private armed security and civilians alike, as well as taking many classes.

Will be starting the process for getting the "premise permit" in the next month or so.

I need some group therapy in a bad way. Anyone know of some good ranges where I can go shooting in North east Queens/western Long Island?

Unfortunately, I don't have a permission slip yet.

Will work on that shortly. I might have to just buy an airsoft gun and practice the fundamentals for now, since I am not allowed to look at real guns yet, lol.

NYC has their own set of rules regarding handgun permits.
With a NYC "premise permit" you can only "target practice" within "NYC" (5 broughs). Not on Long island. Check the manual.
Some may take the risk. But is only takes getting caught once. Just my $0.02

For those with NYC HANDGUN premises permits, you can only leave the 5 boroughs by obtaining a Hunting Authorization card. This card allows you to travel to “authorized” hunting grounds in NY State. Request the authorization card when you pick up your license."

Welcome. I grew up in "upstate" NY (Middletown) then went to college in PA then made the mistake of moving back to NY (after college). I moved 2 years ago back to PA and am never going back. I couldn't imagine moving back to NYC of all places! Have you ever lived in NY? You may want to take up a new hobby besides guns. Seriously.
