Help! A NYS County is trying to suspend / revoke CCW permit over photo w/ religious headgear

?????????? WHAT ???? religious headgear??? so someone was issued a CCW permit, he/she has a EDC gun, but now they want to pull his/her permit because of a hat, Habib, towel, some dumbass baseball hat??

Threaten to sue them? Or better yet actually file the paperwork. Reference some famous cases of the flying spaghetti monster being permitted as religious headgear on official photos.

Hey! I just checked my photo, I have a baseball hat on lol. Never told me I couldn't wear it or to take it off

I had a base ball cap on when I had a new photo taken because livingston county went from paper to plastic and I was adding a hand gun. .. Asked if I needed to take it off clerk taking photo said no.. .. This was in April 2023

With as few perm bans as there are on this forum, several of them (hard to say how many because those people started numerous aliases) are from people who made up and posted hoaxes about having their guns taken away or very similar things. We have enough actual problems with the state of NY and it's gun laws without making shit up. It does a massive disservice to gun owners to be 'crying wolf' with fake stories because they think it's funny or it's just a scenario they want to present because it 'could happen' (that's usually the excuse).

Just because you find it ridiculous does not mean its not the official headgear of a religion. It does not matter if its a tongue in cheek religion. Its no different than other religion's weird ass beliefs and is due the same protections.

I think the few people I have met that "bought into" the spaghetti man were very sane. Just a bit caustic in their sarcasm. I bet if this guy wore a set of horns he would not be in trouble, just a guess though. Maybe he should change "religions" and do just that with the offer to change pictures. Identify as a one of satan's minions, or a dog or a llama.

Absolutely right. Pastafarianism is a joke, and nobody goes through daily life wearing a colander on their head at all times. Nobody. Wearing it to troll the pistol bureau and the courts (or, making up a story about someone doing so) isn't funny. Just exercising your ordinary 1st and 2nd amendment rights is enough of a bitch in this state already without distractions from atheist pranksters mocking religion.

You don't have to smoke ganja to be rasta - the South African reggae singer Lucky Dube (now dead) never touched it - his music is outstanding. He was killed by car-jackers in 2007.

And, yes, I find rastafarianism to be just as much a religion as any other - had an interest in it for decades.

In fact, if I was to embrace any "religion" it would be rastafarianism.

The pasta people are real. I have seen them in person. Of course, I do not see their faith and movement as real, but then again, many do not see my faith as real anymore either.
