While out on a run a few weeks ago, I saw some signs talking about hunting (bow only) in Perinton, NY in a handful of approved areas.
There's a $30 fee to be entered into a lottery for 2-8 permits for any given area, and the number of permits is dictated by the size of the area.
That said, help me understand tag usage. I have my lifetime super sportsman license, so it comes with a buck tag, as well as 2 doe tags. I also have my bow endorsement, but I haven't used it in a few years for lack of ability to get into the woods. I know the DMP tags can only be used during gun season. Is that also true for bow tags? I ask because I heard at one point that you could use one tag in a different season, but not the other way around, and I don't 100% remember which way it works, or if the guy was just talking out his ass about it.
I'm hesitant to pick up the necessary doe tag and potentially waste it on the CHANCE of getting into an area I want.
I'm sure I'm not being entirely clear, but here's the info from Perinton on the requirements and such that MIGHT help clarify. http://www.perinton.org/files/parksrec/Hunting Program Information Sheet 2015.pdf
