Hobo knife

Anyone else into Hobo knives. I’ve got a few. I keep one in a bug out bag , one in my truck bag and I have a set that I use when I do primitive tent camping. Here are a few photos of mine. Anyone else here like and use a Hobo knife ?

This is the one that I’ve been using for many years when I primitive tent camp. Manufactured by Imperial , out of Ireland.

I didn't know people referred to those as "hobo knives" but I like it! As I sit here in Zanesville OH on my lunch break with a pudding cup in hand and having once again forgotten to pack a spoon in my bag I'm thinking I should throw a hobo knife into the overhead bin of the Freightliner too.

I was introduced to the Hobo knife back in the late 60’s early 70’s as a young Scout by one of my Scout leaders, we were on a camping trip and I had forgotten to pack my mess kit and he lent me one of his Hobo knives to use for the weekend.
I don’t think I’ve ever been without one in some form or another since then.

Very cool. Not really the same in form, but I'll toss this guy in a lunchbox. A little Kabar "tactical" spork with a knife that clicks into the handle.

I remember we, well my father, had that type of mess kit when I was a kid. I have no idea what happened to it but wish I did.

You can grab these things cheap on Amazon and gun shows.

I bought two a couple weeks ago for $7 per and the Knoxville gun show.

Gol-Dingut! For the second night in a row I forgot to pack a spoon for my pudding cup! I absolutely will, when I go grocery shopping at Walmart this morning, go over to the camping section and purchase a hobo knife to keep in my truck. My big truck, the work truck as in 18 wheeler. Anything that has less than 10 wheels is not a truck; that is a car. This is something I have been trying to impress upon my brother. I'll talk about "My Truck" and he thinks I mean my little F150 when I am talking about the Freightshaker. An F150 has 4 wheels and is thus a car.

Just stop into Any walmart and go over to the camping section. They have a couple of different options for sporks or Hobo knives.

Got em as a bundle off Amazon for $12. One goes into my truck the other I'll keep with the rest of my preps.

I might not be enjoying my revolver but at least I am getting good use out of my hobo knife. I don't bother packing a spoon in my lunch anymore . I just use the hobo knife I keep in the truck.
