what pistol would you get? (make it 2, reasonable grail and true Grail!)

Well, I don't know if my pick could ever be considered reasonable .. but if it's a true 'grail' pistol then I'd have to say one of (the pair if possible) Cabot Guns Meteorite 1911s . They're also worth 4.5 million .. so there is that.

But if I had to choose one for show and tell, I think it would be nice to have one of those Cabot's meteorite iron 1911...

I have a meteorite collection. They can become unstable and crumble to dust, can't imagine firing one of those meteorite guns, or even handling it. The oils from your skin cause many meteorites to rust just from handling them without gloves. Depends on the meteorite, some are known to be very unstable, others not so much. Can you imagine your $4.5 million dollar investment rusting and crumbling while sitting in a display case ?!?!

For me it would be a non-existent pistol- 1st Gen Sig P229 SAS in SA/DA instead of DAK. I worked over a DAK 229 back when they first came out and it was essentially like it had been custom built for my hand but I could. not. get over. that action.

I'd probably cry a little bit. But whoever would own such things would likely keep them under sealed glass. Utterly pointless if you ask me. Function is the ultimate beauty.
