As much as I hate the risk, I think this needs to happen and happen now while the Supreme Court is the way it is. An AWB cannot pass the Bruen test or constitutional muster. It should be ruled unconstitutional and put it all to bed for the whole country. My main worry would be that certain elements of an AWB, would be held as constitutional. What those are or would be I do not know.

If it is ruled unconstitutional how do we enforce it. Will Garland send in the National guard in to protect our rights.. Sure we can sue and maybe collect damages .. Who suffers. the tax payers. It seems we cannot hit the folks that passed the laws in the pocket book.

I don't know. What I do know is that the push for AWBs is never going to go away until the Supreme Court rules it illegal for Congress or any state to enact one. Maybe even then, the fuck faces will just keep trying, but at least we will have had that precedent set. Who knows what the court will look like even a year from now, so IF this is going to happen to us, I think we have a better chance of shutting it down in the courts now.
To be clear, I do not want an AWB at all for any state or the country as a whole. I want the push for them and the ability to enact them gone for good. Wishful thinking, I know.

Good, pass it tomorrow. I've been saying for years the only way we get rid of the SAFE Act here is for it to go Federal. Until the rest of the country has to stop laughing at NY and join the fight, we'll never get relief here.
You cannot pass a law that is unconstitutional... Pass whatever piece of paper they want, doesn't mean shit! Yeah MOVE! Because there's plenty of places that won't enforce this shit, and they will proclaim and maintain State Sovereignty... Most of the rest of the country has vast freedom when it comes to owning and carrying arms. There are maybe 12 states in this country that are gargbage when it comes to the Second Amendment. There are 26 freaking Constitutional Carry states that have come about in just the last 10-12 years for goodness sake, and that number will probably be 30+ within the next 3-5 years. Other states that don't go that way still have, overall, a lot of liberty in terms of arms. Very few states even require a permit to buy and own a handgun, and their permit process is mostly fair and relatively easy.
Feel free to delude yourself about Second Amendment freedom in other states, but there is no doubt that most of the rest of the country is moving towards fewer restrictions, not more.

Sorry but this line of thinking simply makes no sense. It's like sinking the boat just to get the captain. It's illogical for the rest of the country to suffer in order to fight for a handful of states. NY being one that doesn't even want to help itself. Would you want the street you live on to become a shithole to force change of the homeless and drug problem in San Francisco? It's kinda like that.

I don't understand this line of thinking either, particularly when we should be factoring in what I pointed out about how more than half the country has moved to either unrestricted gun ownership and carry, and or have at least greatly reduced the hoops to jump through for handguns. Almost EVERY state in the union are mostly unrestricted ownership of rifles, mags, armor, etc., as well as complete access to NFA for those that want to jump through the hoops for things like suppressors, and for those who can afford to buy a full-auto in the expensive, used machine gun market.
MOST STATES ARE NOT LIKE NY AT ALL when it comes to Arms. Don't believe me? Then freaking go to some of them!!! Don't take my freaking word for it.
It is honestly a point of hope and succor to me that most of the country is acknowledging the Second Amendment's place in our quiver of Rights and getting back to it.
We ought to be thankful that in terms of Arms, most of the country is moving away from Tyranny and demonstrating the kind of Liberty that men had when this nation was founded and for well a century and a half before the terrible National Firearms Act became law in 1934.
We DO NOT want the 26 Constitutional Carry states and the other 10-12 states that are head and shoulders above shitholes like NY and Commiefornia to "feel our pain." Those states are a very effective deterrent against the ongoing Tyranny we say in the other 12 or so states that suck.
You don't fight communism, fascism, or any other form of Tyranny by wishing it upon your neighbors. Once that cancer spreads, it doesn't go away. Every single commie nation I can think of is still a mess even decades after they supposedly threw it off, and many never have.
There are 3-4 million handgun permit holders in this freaking state. There are 10s of millions of ARs in this state, and a lot more rifles and shotguns than that. It could be a formidable force without even a bit of violent action, but instead of us flexing our muscle, we have NYers hoping that the large majority of states that have thrown the shackles off will get the hammer at the Federal so that they will end up just like NY, and that magically somehow will bring relief to this shithole.
None of the states are perfect, and there is widespread corruption and organized crime in all of them. That being said, there are AT LEAST 35 states where it would be much better to live than here strictly in terms of gun rights. Add in the difference in taxes and regulatory burden and so on, and there can be only one conclusion:
Other states are a bulwark against things getting MUCH WORSE across the entire nation.
Why in hell would anyone wish that the 26 Constitutional Carry states would go back to egregious restrictions on Arms?
Its nothing but a bunch of crybaby sour milk pouting by men in cucked states who refuse to say NO to any more restrictions and can't admit to themselves that their lack of pushback has put them in the predicament they are in.
35+ other states clearly highlights the fact that not only can things change in a theoretical sense (could happen), they DO change when people refuse to give up their Rights and push their governments to become better (has happened).
The problem with NY is that its full of NYers, rather than Americans in the strictest sense of that term.
The power resides with the People. But only if they use it.
