I've had a gun on my hip IWB nonstop since 0800 this morning, and now it kinda hurts a little.
Also, on a related topic, when at home, and I'm not going anywhere I don't typically wear a gun. I do keep a loaded pistol in arms reach however, the PPQ in my case. I also keep it in its holster, just not attached to anything. I'll just plop the holstered pistol on a nearby table or counter. I figure this will drastically reduce the chance of me slipping a finger in the guard by accident and having an ND. Does anyone else do this?
I figure if I ever encounter a serious problem, I will have some advance warning so as to take a few seconds to acquire, remove the safety, and rack the slide.
Just gotta make sure you go to big Joey for the wanding.I ankle-carry.
Yes, it may take a moment to acquire - but I'm not standing down anyone at High Noon.
I actively avoid bad situations, and will run if I can.

Now this does mean I'm always wearing long pants. No biggie for me. I don't like shorts.
What I do wonder, though, is whether I could sneak past some Security CheckPoints with Ankle-Carry. I don't mean a Courthouse or Airport, where I assume they are thorough.
But perhaps a Concert, Theatre, or similar event where a Hand-Held Wand is in use, and the Guards would be reluctant to bend down to check ?
People can carry however they wish, its a personal choice. That said if you watch the videos and read the reports you do see that trouble comes like a thief in the night, and catche you with your pants around your ankles.Uh oh. Now you've done it. Take a few seconds?!? Rack the slide?!? Stand back, here come the comments....
For the record, I carry condition one, and practice with a shot timer.People can carry however they wish, its a personal choice. That said if you watch the videos and read the reports you do see that trouble comes like a thief in the night, and catche you with your pants around your ankles.
If my M4 isn't within reach, a holstered pistol is.Also, on a related topic, when at home, and I'm not going anywhere I don't typically wear a gun. I carry my Shield 9mm in an OWN Alien Gear.I've had a gun on my hip IWB nonstop since 0800 this morning, and now it kinda hurts a little.
I carry the same in a crossbreed. I think its a very comfortable holster and all but after 14 hours it started to dig in. I probably could have uncinched the belt a little, but is end of the day, and the pants come off at the end of the day.I carry my Shield 9mm in an OWN Alien Gear.
Sitting, driving, walking........I cannot even feel it.
If I'm off my property, I have my pistol. Gun zones, gun free zones, hospitals, including serious no no places.
The longest periods are when camping. Ive had my gun on my hip for 48 hours straight, including sleeping, many times......probably longer.

Still better off than the 98% of people who who don't carry.Uh oh. Now you've done it. Take a few seconds?!? Rack the slide?!? Stand back, here come the comments....
Yes indeed.Still better off than the 98% of people who who don't carry.
You can't always run and when you think you avoided a situation, you didn't. If that's the case, you can leave the gun at home. Chamber that round.I ankle-carry.

Hmm. You carry an empty gun? Interesting to say the least.
As fpr the OP, If I am awake, I have a gun on. At night, nest to my bed.
If you have to do All of that in a serious situation, you're already dead!I ankle-carry.
