How powerful are CIVILIAN taser??

Personally if I had to go with non/less than lethal option I would pick OC spray (and actually believe it is a good option to have in an EDC set up, still figuring out how to incorporate it into mine)

Yeah, they both have their purposes. Tasers are really only effective if the suspect isn’t wearing many layers or thick clothing, otherwise it’s pretty much useless. Just becomes a noisemaker at that point. lol
Yea I remember hearing something that like they only actually work about 40% of the time (maybe 60%?) in LEO uses, either way a 40-60% fail rate is not what I want to bet my life on, unlike in law enforcement use I don't have backup with lethal cover

I have been pepper sprayed (it sucks) but never tasered. I hope to never be tasered. I did once stick my hand into a toaster. Very unpleasant.

Lmao, I once trying to unplug a refrigerator by shoving my arm behind it and pinching the cord and pulling. Pulled once and didn’t quite get it, so I did it again and in doing so I grabbed the positive and negative prongs of the cord that were still halfway in the wall socket. That zapped me pretty good.
I’ve been OC sprayed a few times and rode the lightening of the full 5 second ride from an X26P. Neither are exactly fun. Both prongs got me right next to my spine...the taser did it’s job, lol. I’ll tell you what, you don’t realize how fast the probes come out! Those fuckers come whipping out pretty damn hard. They are also like barbed fishing hooks.
F that. I 100% hate hate electricity (which was a huge part of my job in the Navy hahaha) watched my buddy get zapped a few times by equipment.
Been OC sprayed and then had it wiped across my forehead to stay "qualified" and it sure has hell sucked but it wasn't as bad for me as others.

They tell everyone that’s about to get tased to make sure they go to the bathroom first. It’s been known to cause people to piss and shit themselves lol.

I enjoy this channel, they did a decent video on the subject. Another really good channel for stuff in slow motion is SmarterEveryDay. I enjoy SmarterEveryDay’s videos more as a whole. Very intelligent guy and tells you what and why everything happens.

I’ve been zapped a few times by 120v over the last 30+ years. In my line of work it’s inevitable. I did commercial restaurant equipment repairs for that long. Once while installing some large industrial equipment in NYS Maximum prison I touched two bare 240v 3 phase wires together to see if the power was on. Well , it was. It cracked off like a damned m80 fire cracker, scaring the living shit out of me. That was one of the stupidest things I ever did. I was weak in the knees for a half hour.

Me too. That was a hard lesson that I never forgot over the years.
from then on I never went into a service call or install contract without a voltage meter. Especially prisons where your reliance was on CO’s from different shifts.
