A surprising detail about the bankruptcy filing is that Hudson is claiming a minimum of $10 million and up to $50 million in liabilities, with only $50,000 or less in assets.

I still don't see what the appeal for these things was. Its ugly as sin, every review said the trigger pull sucked, and it was very spendy for what it is - a heavy, brick of a gun that doesn't work as well as guns half the price.

Was watching one of Gun Jesus's videos explaining these and a possibility on what happened.

They planned on releasing an aluminum model but announced it to early so no one was buying the steel framed ones and wanted to wait for the aluminum

Hudson must have been passing around some really good hookers and blow to get ass-kissing apologists after they went under.

A couple of responses to the video above:
-Hudson had (essentially) no inventory left, as stated in their bankruptcy filing. If the reason they weren't selling guns was because people were waiting for an aluminum version, there would be unsold guns sitting around somewhere. Or at least parts for unsold guns. I've never seen a Hudson for sale. They weren't able to make them, so they weren't able to sell them.
- Its not unreasonable to expect a gun to work fairly reliably inside of 10 years of production. Even Ruger can do that :)ROFL:).
- Companies don't just take a chance shipping guns and hoping they are ready for sale. They do a tremendous amount of R&D that the fully expect the gun to work as designed. Sometimes revisions and repairs are necessary, but most are good to go.
- This guy said he was drunk as he made the video. I believe him. This is the most BS filled video I've seen this guy make.

I wasn't referring to you. I was referring to the media types.

When the gun first came out, every review stated something to the effect of, "The trigger is a bit gritty and heavy, but any competent gunsmith can do a trigger job on it." Every reviewer had jams and stoppages - on the cherry picked guns sent out for review! But they were just new guns that needed a break-in. A bunch of media types noted that the Shot Show range day guns wouldn't impact at point of aim - again, on the cherry picked media guns!!! Good luck dealing with shooting high or low on a gun with fixed sights. A $1000+ gun with fixed sights.

All of that would be unacceptable on a Taurus or HiPoint, but it got explained and excused away for Hudson. I wish I knew how they got the media to carry water for them like that.

The point of the video is that fledgling gun companies going tits up is the norm not the exception. Currently the market is for polymer guns, sub $500 price tags. Folks want good guns cheap. Frankly I don't think there is any room left in the pistol market for a small up and comer.
