I am in the middle of a whirlwind, with a ton of shit to do and finish up before the move. Sad to do, but my employees took it as well as could be expected. My kids are apprehensive I can tell, but I am trying to reassure them as much as possible that things will be OK, and that they will see me again. My ex is already driving me crazy, and texting and calling me at odd hours with various requests. I cannot wait to get the hell out of town and away from dealing with her shit!
I will be in Charlotte and on the job by 8/15.
Just a footnote, but if any other members here have some insight they can offer re dealing with NY state and the tax issues I'm facing, please PM me.
Also, I am still looking for a good close up picture of FUAC's face that I can use to create my parting shot tribute I am working on. Perhaps @livingston or others have something I can use, but I think it needs to be something I can use free of any copyright claims or anything similar. Once finished, I will post here, and if you guys like it, I hope you will post the living shit out of it far and wide.

You need to file in NY for any income you made whilst a NY resident even if you did not reside in NY at the time. So if you made $10,000 between January 1st and XYZ date you become a NC resident you need to file in NY for that income. I'm not a CPA or lawyer but that's how it was explained to me by the tax lawyer I hired to handle it. My advise is to do what I did and hire a professional to do your taxes for you just this year, it will cost but the cost is worth it if NY kicks up a fit about your file at any point in the next 7 years.

The time to take my guns on a road trip to freedom is long overdue! Rosie & Louise are seasoned travelers, but are really anxious to go somewhere nice, - instead of those late night runs in the hood!
The other day, my motion camera I have covering my gun safe kept tripping. When I went and opened it, all the guns inside were jumping up and down in anticipation of the upcoming move! They can’t wait!

I regret to say it, but most likely my U / L driving days will be coming to an end once I move to Charlotte. I may drive a few more times here before I leave if I have the time, as I could still use the bucks.
As for driving in Charlotte, from what I have seen, U / L pay EVEN LESS than they do in Buffalo! I have read that quite a few drivers in Charlotte are disgusted and quitting over how low the driver pay is. My stopping driving sort of reminds me of the quote in the movie Forrest Gump when he said "...and just like that, my running days was over...".
I might have considered doing it there just to get a bit familiar with the area, but I suspect I will be beyond busy with the new job, and getting my apartment set up, etc. That, and adjusting to the hotter climate!

WELCOME TO NC my man, I’ve settled in Wilmington. Besides the lack of good pizza I absolutely love it down here.
SBR’s, CLASS 3, unlimited mag capacity, pawn shops selling guns, no FFL needed for FTF sales, etc.

You will need to file both NY and NC income tax returns for 2018. Remove any monies you have in any NY accounts before the end of the year.
You cannot get a NC DL until you get liability insurance on your car. Yes you heard me!
I had State Farm for many years but they wouldn’t let me keep the same policy, had to go to SF here in NC to insure me.
Be prepared to pay about 3% of the value of your cars to get them registered, the first time only, then around 1% each year after. They do undervalue imo so not that bad. The good, when you buy a new car, no sales tax, but a NC road use fee of about 3%, one time.
Property taxes are a pittance compared to what I was paying in Wastechester.
Water bills can be high depending on use.
Enjoy the beautiful beaches, Nags Head,and the whole coast, and mountains, both just a few hours away. Myrtle Beach is close, very close as well.
Oh, there’s a bunch of NYers down here, some from the NY forums, that I see on NC gun forums like Dystruckoboi and his brother Syntax(sp), ladder 13 and others whose names escape me right now.

One thing more, the drivers down here are the worst I’ve ever seen, truth. There’s multiple “wrecks” as they call them each rush hour, even if it’s sunny and dry, they have no clue how to drive.
