No, not the recoil. It was the thought that it was over $1 per shot at today's prices and I burned through 4 boxes of slugs.

I think I am getting very stingy in my old age.

About to do the same to sight a couple of shotguns in for deer hunting on Long Island. Very much hoping not to have to put more than 3 through each. Six each is my absolute maximum.

ya, try 45-70 rounds, they range from $2 to $4 per round, depending on which manufacture you use.

Buffalo Bore, 45-70 magnum Lever gun ammo, 500 gr, 1625 f.p.s, M.E. 2931 Ft lbs, $89.45 = $4.75 per round

Fortunately, I shoot cheap shit, Winchester 300 gr, $2.00+ per round

what I thought was BEFORE the shortage I tried to find some buckshut and slugs for my B-I-L 20 guage that is now parked in my safe. thats when I realized there was a shortage as before they were all over the wally world shelves......

none to be had before hunting season. I can find some target loads but woud like to have some buckshot around. someday .....maybe...
