During the "can't get nutn' right now" shortages of covid, the shop started ordering Turkish shotguns under various names and rebrandings, the CZ's and Weatherby's were very nice, and offered in both inertia drive and gas driven...outside changes in the furniture and sometimes the receiver shape, they're damn near all the same between their respective actions.

Buck and a half is cheap enough, and since it's new, there's little chance of RTI fucking it up or mis-representing it.
This is the other reason LOTS of Guns and Ammunition is being imported from Turkey:

I’m very familiar with the 1301 tactical and A300 ultima patrol.

the 1301 tactical has a chromed rotating bolt whereas the A300 ultima patrol does not.

the 1301 tactical has a chrome lined cold hammer forged barrel where as the A300 ultima patrol does not.

the 1301 tactical has the newer BLINK operating system which allows for faster firing (impossible to out run the trigger so to speak) whereas the A300 has the older style of gas system like previous beretta shotguns from the early 90’s. The BLINK system is also self cleaning so you can go 10k rounds before cleaning.

the 1301 tactical has 2 action bars for more reliable performance whereas the A300 ultima patrol only has 1 action bar.

the 1301 tactical recoil assembly is contained completely inside the forend whereas the A300 ultima patrol recoil assembly is inside the stock. This means you can swap to many different styles of stocks on the 1301 tactical whereas on the A300 ultima patrol you can’t and are locked into what comes on it.

the 1301 tactical is about .6 lbs lighter than the A300 ultima patrol but due to the BLINK operating system is softer shooting with less felt recoil.

the 1301 tactical comes standard with the beretta pro lifter already installed whereas the A300 ultima patrol does not. The beretta pro lifter stays in the raised position all the time thus keeping the lifter out of the way for loading shells into the magazine tube for easier loading. Impossible to have your finger get pinched by the lifter.

in summary the 1301 tactical is lighter, more reliable, more durable, softer shooting, and has more standard equipment than the A300 ultima patrol.

this is not meant to shit talk the A300 ultima patrol. It’s a decent shotgun but utilizes older technology and is built to a price point.

That's all good information, certainly explains why the 1301 is so much more expensive.
I know what you mean by the Trigger not being able to out run the action...I have a few of the 1200/1201's and you can empty the gun before the first empty hits the ground IF you've got a Jerry Miculek finger.

I just hav a hard time spending $1300-1900 on a semi auto shotgun that still only has a 7+1 or 8+1 capacity when a pump with the same capacity and less complexity is $300. I suppose someday if I have a bunch of extra income I would scratch that itch for sure. For now, I have 4 tactical pumps haha.

Speaking of pumps what do you folks think of the Mossberg 590 a1. I like the walnut retro w/ the bayonet, heat shield and the mount all included. Have doubles and semi autos but no pump. Always loved shooting friends old model 12’s, Time to own one. No price point

I pretty much completely concur which is why I thus have not spent the money on one. The only caveat being having shot a 1301 I did find it to be a light and handy firearm with good ergonomics and control layout. Despite being over 2 pounds lighter than my 590A1 I found the recoil to be somewhat less. I think the 1301 is the 12 guage to get.

The 590A1 is the final word in tactical pump guns. The retrograde model is very nice but the asking price is completely ridiculous and not worth it IMO. I have the 20" model with the 8 shot tube. It is heavy and a little cumbersome but it shoots well and 8+1 rounds of 12 guage shells is a lot of firepower.

I wish someone would bring back, the Winchester 1300 Defender. The 1300 was the finest pump action of the modern age if you ask me.

Final word in tactical pump guns sound like the one for me. Weight really isn’t an issue. I like the thick walled receiver and heavy barrel. I read in a few places the finish on the walnut could be better, but I need something f**king ugly. Got a couple of first run HK Benelli’s I picked up many moons ago (nib) that I have no plans on beating the shit out of. Need something to beat on. 590A1 sounds like the ticket.

I have 2000+ rounds out of my humble Mossberg 500 through all seasons and hunting in all sorts of places. Not a single malfunction. That's just the humble 500.

I have two mav 88s too. Not a single issue.


My older brother has had a 500 since 1994 that's was once left in a snow bank for a month. He still trusts it to this day to protect and hunt.

I bought my 1100 in the late 70s - early 80s. Used it mostly for southern tier deer hunting. I don't think I've put even 200 rounds thru it. Both barrels and the wood are still like new. No dirt or mud :ROFL: It'll go to my daughter, when the times comes :)

Not to dismiss the Mossberg, they make a damn fine shotgun. (you should have seen most of the M500's returned from use in the Sandbox) they came in beat-to-shit, but FULLY functional and operational.

Of several Pump actions, I have a Benelli Super Nova 3-1/2" chamber, 28" barrel and extended magazine that'll hold 9 rounds...she a big girl, and with 10 rounds of High Brass will lay it down.

Thinking about it, for a pump gun that I really like the feel of, the Winchester Model 12 just has that something special, especially in 20 gauge.
