I think I ruined my PC carbine

I was reassembling my pc carbine after a cleaning and it took a spill off of my work bench onto the basement floor. The barrel assembly was almost fully seated into the receiver when my butterfingers went into full effect. The barrel assembly took the worst of it. The piece that fits into the receiver is marred up pretty bad and I think it may be slightly bent. I’m extremely mad at myself and at a loss of what to do with it.

Oh no!! Does it go back together with no problems? Do you have snap caps to see if it'll chamber properly? I know Ruger has a good rep for CS, so maybe call them? I know accidentals usually aren't covered, but you never know with them. They may just help you out.

I second this. If it can take the pressures of modern cartridge ammunition, I don't think being dropped 3 feet is going to break or bend it.

It will not reassemble. The barrel will not sit deep enough into the receiver to actually twist it into place. The fit between the two is much tighter now and I’d have to force it which I don’t want to do.

I bet you just put a burr on a surface somewhere and that is what is keeping it from going together. If Ruger won't repair it under warranty just try putting a little more ass on it, see if goes together then, work it back and forth and see if that improves the fit, smoothes the burr out.

I clean and drop my guns all the time time. I have never seriously damaged one by droping it though. My 590A1 fell out of a moving pickup once. It was fine.

I only cleaned it to get the oil it was packaged with off. I haven’t got to shoot the damn thing yet.

Don’t listen to this dude about not cleaning your weapons. Accidents happen. A guy that doesn’t clean his weapons, also lives in a pigsty with dirty underwear all over the place.

You’ll get it fixed or perhaps Ruger can sell you a new barrel assembly if they don’t fix it.

Mark it up to bad luck. It happens. Sucks it’s brand new and you never got to shoot it yet, like everyone else has said: contact Ruger. I have one of those padded fake diamond plate mats where I stand at my work bench. I drop stuff sometimes but it’s nice to have a little padding for your feet, and the stuff you drop.

I made out OK. Returned it Sam's Club. Told them the truth. Got the exact replacement. I had three days of feeling like crap before I went there.
