The sanding is still rough and will need more smoothing. I probably won't go crazy trying to get it perfect. The Talon grips will cover most of it.

For what it's worth, I just installed talons on my American Compact. They are very nice. The biggest difference I noticed right off the bat is while drawing, I can pretty much instantly see my red dot now every time. I like them very much.

I like the undercut on this and how they opened it up around the trigger. If I end up doing the stippling, I will not do the beaver tail. I'd want that area to remain smooth.

I spent some more time on the frame this morning. I'm liking the way it's coming out so far. I added a slight double undercut and opened the rear undercut up more forward instead of straight up. It's deep enough upwards and needed to come forward. It's now a lot more comfortable. The double undercut is slight and just enough for my support hand finger to fit comfortably in. I know a lot of double undercuts go almost to the front of the trigger guard, but I don't want to remove too much material if it's not needed. I hit everything with 220 to help remove some of the deeper marks. I started with a 60 grit dremel drum and really shouldn't have. I think I should have started with 220 to avoid getting the deeper marks but it is what it is. It just meant more work to sand them out. I'm not yet sure if I am ready to install the Talon grips though. Overall the pistol is a lot more comfortable in the hand.

Yeah so, I just went for it and installed the grips, lol. Any further work will be on the double undercut on the trigger guard anyway. They aren't bad. I'll have to get out and shoot it to see, but just with handling it, it's nice and isn't too aggressive.
Man I was going to say how clean this looked but then I realized its completely fucked up and needs to be thrown out.. uhg wrong handed people.
Haha jk I actually like the look of the grips on there, they don't look to be an after thought and almost look like an actual stippling

Haha! You know, in some ways it's actually easier for me to eject the mag with the release on the other side. I'd just use either my trigger finger or middle finger to press the release.
Yeah, the grips look nice and they definitely feel like part of the gun and not just like a sleeve, if that makes sense. I cleaned the surface with rubbing alcohol and used a hair dryer multiple times to set the adhesive (per the instructions), so we will see how they hold up. At this point I can still see stippling as an option though and what is cool, is that these grips could be used as a stencil to outline the stippling.

And the more I handle this thing, the more I want to bring that double undercut more forward, lol. Not because of how it feels, but to look more cooler.
Send it.. i mean it does look good as is, but cant hurt if you think it will look better

Very nice result. The Talon grips look great on it and it looks much better without stupid finger grooves.

I shoot lefty, never swapped the mag release on any of my pistols until a few months back, was swapping out the stock plastic release on a beretta. Only took me one minute of manipulating the release set up for lefty and switched it right back to right hand set up. I use the same method of dropping mags with either trigger finger or middle finger. Felt awkward as could be with it set for lefty. I believe my exact words were,
“nope, that shit ain’t gonna work”

A lot of the time people make the mistake of cutting the undercut too deep in the direction of going directly straight up towards the slide, which actually causes some bad “Glock Knuckle”. What you really are looking at doing is going just slightly upward but also drawing out that undercut forward towards the rest of the trigger guard and creating a much less harsh of an angle. You did a pretty decent job at it. When people screw it up, it comes out looking something like this...
