I don't recall a delineation for detachable mags for pistols. Only exception was for tube magazines on .22lr

Correct. Only exemption is .22 tube fed magazines.
I have to say I really like the pistol and for $400 it’s a no brainer for me to buy if I could have 20 rounds. At the NYS restriction it’s not worth it for me.

Kel-Tec has definitely had some "outside the box" designs, and for the most part they're reliable, sometimes a bit tough to get (low production numbers) and as any other manufacturer, they've made so junk too.
Their 30 round, .22 magnum semi-auto Pistol is a hoot, too bad the fucktards from NYC ruined any chances of vetted Civilians from ever having the here.

But, you're right, even a tube mag is limited to 10 unless it's a .22lr under SAFE.

IT has a magazine, just not a detachable one.

Since SAFE already outlawed tubular magazines in excess of 10 rounds for everything but .22lr then certainly this is illegal too.

Doesn't even matter if it's not a semi-auto. A lever action .357 is illegal if the tube is too long. Same goes for a pump shotgun if you put a super long tube on it.

Its pretty cut and dry about this, 20 rounds is a no-go. I suppose a FFL could make a blocking plug to be compliant but getting clarification on how to do it properly is not likely.

The magazine itself is illegal, whether it's permanently attached to a pistol or not.

A 30rnd mag doesn't magically become legal just because you glue it into an AR for instance.

So, you do not have an illegal assault weapon, because not detachable.

But you still have an illegal full capacity magazine.

If you have a 30rnd SKS, it's NY illegal. Even though you would reload it with three 10 rnd stripper clips.

Nice looking gun, thin and relatively compact. I'm not familiar with the caliber but if is available I would take a serious look. Course, in Shit Hole USA there is no chance of separating me and my Dinaro for this little gem. 20 rounds! Awesome!

That's certainly ideal, but beyond my personal capabilities.

My solution was to escape from the gulag, and I would just buy one of these and load it up all the way because I moved the hell out of communist territory.

I have a Thorsden stock sitting in a box in my closet, replaced with an aimpoint folder once I escaped.

"Found" a box of 30 round mags when I moved too, guess they didn't fall out of that boat after all.

But, even that is beyond the capabilities of many of the members here as well.

So, I was just offering an opinion on what *they* could do.

Living in a free state I would still consider this as a carry option. And it's pretty cool. It reminds me of the Remington R1, but actually works. It's a bit shorter than the other 5.7 offerings too making for better concealed carry. I think you would treat this more like a revolver than an auto. Having no detachable mags makes it overall simpler. Just load 20 up and go. I suppose you could carry around a clip or 2 though (they hold 10). Being how slim it is it's probably a pleasure to carry.

That could work as well.

I would certainly want a reversible option. If I was still in NY, but I would consider something that just requires buying a new follower close enough to "reversible".

If you're really a purist, buy a new follower to mangle and keep the original in a box. Doesn't get much more reversible than that.

As far as getting it into the state to begin with, wonder if you just talked the sending FFL into gutting the mag and shipping it as a "single shot" without a spring or follower at all to make it compliant..

Then you can add your frankenfollower once you get it.

Well, upon further investigation I think I’ll be picking one of these up, once distributors get some in stock. Seems like fun… also I’ve paid off my child support arrears so the gun budget is back!
