All these stations are owned by the same company, sure its scripted but its far from nefarious. Why depend on local talent to write commentary when a central hub of writers can churn out material and distribute...
From school indoctrination ..To 24/7 media brainwashing. How many folks really think on their own ... And we wonder why this society is so F### up .. Go back to Fahrenheit 451 .. Gun Magazines pulled from Krogers .... Just the start folks ..
So it appears that one of the few right leaning news corporations (Sinclair) is getting universally condemned by most of the other media companies for condemning fake news and committing to factual reporting. These montages of local news anchors reporting, word for word, the same stories have been around for years. But now that the content is against fake news, instead of Christmas buying habits, it's time for everyone to get the torches and pitchforks.
Gentlemen, THIS is what it looks like when you try to resist the propaganda machine that the left has built. The originally posted video is, ironically, the type of fake news that Sinclair's statement comes out against: it is cut together in a way that focuses on and vilifies the coordination while simultaneously obscuring the actual message. I was fooled too. The only reason I did more investigation is because of how vehement and universal the condemnation is from the big outlets.
A script for the message was published by seatlepi.com:
"Hi, I'm(A) ____________, and I'm (B) _________________...
(B) Our greatest responsibility is to serve our Northwest communities. We are extremely proud of the quality, balanced journalism that KOMO News produces.
(A) But we're concerned about the troubling trend of irresponsible, one sided news stories plaguing our country. The sharing of biased and false news has become all too common on social media.
(B) More alarming, some media outlets publish these same fake stories... stories that just aren't true, without checking facts first.
(A) Unfortunately, some members of the media use their platforms to push their own personal bias and agenda to control 'exactly what people think'...This is extremely dangerous to a democracy.
(B) At KOMO it's our responsibility to pursue and report the truth. We understand Truth is neither politically 'left nor right.' Our commitment to factual reporting is the foundation of our credibility, now more than ever.
(A) But we are human and sometimes our reporting might fall short. If you believe our coverage is unfair please reach out to us by going to KOMOnews.com and clicking on CONTENT CONCERNS. We value your comments. We will respond back to you.
(B) We work very hard to seek the truth and strive to be fair, balanced and factual... We consider it our honor, our privilege to responsibly deliver the news every day.
(A) Thank you for watching and we appreciate your feedback"
here is part of the issue. many of these anchors DID NOT want to publish/report these comments written by Sinclare Corp. However, all these people are under contract. If they refuse to broadcast the statement written by Corporate they can be fired. If they quite they may have to pay Sinclare thousands of dollars for a buyout. These poor people have been taking a beating on social media and they are between a rock and a hard place.
I KNOW Norma Holland (WHAM13) and her family. They are wonderful people and these anchors don't deserve the bullshit they are taking on behalf of Sinclare Corp.
and if anyone thinks this is just Sinclare, ask yourself WTF is going on at CNN
This is nothing new, its been happening for years.
The message in the OP is a good one.
Sinclair had a message to get out to the country so they gave this message to their employees to give to the masses.
Big deal.
So Norma Holland didn't want to condemn the reporting of false stories and make clear her commitment to factual reporting? Read the script. The actual words are good. This statement (not a story, not a report, a statement) has been so thoroughly spun into a club that few even care what the statement was about. It is horrific that coming out in support of truth can be so quickly and completely manipulated.
Putting yourself under contract is a choice. I truly feel bad for her and other decent anchors caught up in this BS but none of them can claim ignorance of the terms of their employment. There isn't any job where, if you're a public face for the company, you can refuse to toe the company line and expect to keep your job.
And the mainstream media all seem to have the same script when criticizing the Sinclair talking points:
An example of the pot calling the kettle black.
In addition, I remember the old "Journolist." It was a private newsgroup for lefty journalists where they coordinated how to spin the news in a favorable way. Mickey Kaus broke this story when one of the members gave him some of the internal discussions. I have no doubt something similar has been created in its place and continues to this day.
