In a free society, to break the covenant with your fellow citizens feloniously, you lose your rights, all of them. When you have served your time as the law dictates, there are already means in place to have those rights returned. Losing them was part of your sentence, the process for regaining them is also part of your sentence. Maybe that has changed, but that is the way it was and still should be.

When it comes to the constitution, there are no opinions. You either have those protected rights or you do not. Nowhere does it say that you do not have those rights if you got into a fight. Nowhere. Until you can find the relevant clause that says otherwise, the facts that I point out are correct.

So if the person in question should not be free but is, knowing what he did you’re ok with him being able to own firearms, again he hacked his own mother to pieces just so we’re clear on the context. And you would have no problem with him shooting next to you at the range.

Fair enough, if that’s your opinion we’ll have to agree to disagree on this, I know the guy he’s crazy as a shithouse loon, got let out by NY’s wonderful parole boards and wouldn’t turn my back on him from a half a block away.
The problem with him being out is you can’t stop him from getting a weapon anyway. So the guys shooting on your left and right at the range you don’t know who they are and what their background is. The only difference in the guy you are talking about and the dangerous felon ( you don’t know about) in the next lane is, you know the story of one and not the other.
