I am like your grandfather. I won't tolerate anyone on my land for any reason; and I even don't like seeing anyone on a neighboring farm. I get my binoculars out and try and understand what they are up to on the land next door. I just dislike people generally - most are an annoyance. Thank god for Amazon.com. It limits how much we need to go to stores, malls, etc. Human interaction can be such a chore.

Good reminder! NY State, I would bet, is counting on the senior type citizens to forget all about this. Give them a reason to send the Purple Tied cops to take their guns away!

Would you believe me if I told you that a priest or a missionary guy came up on his porch to try to talk to him and my grandpa went ape shit! He took his bible and chucked it off the porch and threatend to shoot him (which he wouldn't of done but he said it so he wouldn't come back). But yeah, my grandfather hates trespassers with a burning passion. He was going to a catholic school in his younger years and he still did that to the missionary

I just keep liking your grandpa more and more with each passing story. What's the purpose of owning land if trespassers come on it? What's the difference between people with beach front property and the rest of the folks? They only have assholes on 3 sides of them.

Just found out they have restricted, they said the only way they were able to get unrestricted was to carry money on them, I don't know why but eh

That's how I did it.. I told the judge I close up the money at my job and do the drop off..which never happen in any career I've held..

Monroe County permits allow you to choose the option of home premise specific possession though. It's silly and doesn't make much sense, but it was an option on the application. Maybe she choose that? did you ask her? I know someone in my family that did just that supposedly.

I will have to ask her .. Had no idea about self limiting oneself in that manner. That would really suck. I would like to take her to the range and also get some classes in with Rochester personal defense ...IF she has that marked (home premise ) then even classes would be a no-go ?

NY issues two types of permits under PL400 carry or premises. Theses are not administrative restrictions set by a judge rather the type of permit issued under NY law. Premises is generally restricted to either a home or business. Its been a while but believe premises provides for transport to gunsmith and/or range. I don't think they are generally common except outside major cities. NYC issues a lot of premises permits and few carry permits as an example.
