Once they realize how fun shooting is they will want the next rifle, the next pistol.
Then they will realize, shit we have to defend the 2A or all these will go away.
Then they will realize, shit the vast majority of gun owners are actually cool folks.
Then they will realize, shit these conservative families are cooler and more tolerant than I thought.
Then perhaps they will realize the enemy is not the neighbor next door but someone else with a hidden agenda.

This is the point I bring up every time one of these stories pops up.
When the left arms up they believe the biggest threat is white, conservative patriots. They constantly talk about defending against Trump supporters.
I saw one video where a member of the "Pink Pistols" said, "anyone that voted for Trump is automatically in their crosshairs and fair game, they are the enemy."

When WE talk about defending ourselves its against criminals, not political rivals.

It's a start in the right direction for them. Maybe if they get out to the ranges more and talk to us they will realize we are not their enemy and maybe they will change their views.

Maybe they will realize 90% of gun owners are respectful and freedom loving. We have common enemies like radical islam, isis, fascist left, antifa, that all want to actively limit freedoms and impose their will unto others.

what @Dayten you can't hit a flying object with a scope on gun .. ??? much training you need my Jedi ... both eyes open , see the force (the double image)
the target flying with left eye and scope reticle with the right ( right hand shooter ) .. my 22lr rifle .. I hit pop cans flying in the air with scope ..

BTW my moss 500 12g had a scope for deer hunting ..

But up until recently, most of NY was shotgun only, as opposed to allowing rifles, so why not make the best of a bad situation?

Don't forget, a lucky shot is as deadly as a planned one. The left doesn't have experience that most gun owners do but, I still would prefer not to be targeted by any of them in the off chance that the stars align that day.

So why not be good stewards of the firearms community and teach them? Not only is it a good opportunity to bring new people into the ranks of shooting sports, but it's also a very good opportunity to demonstrate to them that we're not as bad as the media and certain politicians make us out to be.

why would I use a scope to hit a flying object? Iron sights work fine for me

Well, if we have any sense by the time they align their "crosshairs" on us the only thing they will see is the muzzle flash of an outgoing round headed straight towards them.
