Gun owners in New York State have been taken advantage of for a long time, and we all know it.

National groups have been taking millions of dollars’ worth of donations out of New York State for years, while doing absolutely nothing for us in Albany.

S.C.O.P.E. has faded away as a statewide leader in the fight for gun rights, and never really had a presence in Albany, anyway.

And with the NYS Rifle and Pistol Association betraying gun owners yet again by supporting Governor Cuomo’s efforts to regulate 80% lowers, gun owners need a new voice in Albany!

That’s why I hope you will watch this video about the New York State Firearms Association and how we are different!

And we dang sure don’t kiss the backside of politicians in Albany, hoping to become part of the 'insider crowd.'

We fight for our members, no one else. And we’re going to fight tooth and nail to expose gun grabbers in both parties, while giving you the tools you need to effectively fight for your freedom!

18 months since the last post, here, and I see very little supporting info for NYSFA. A video with 3 Dorr's, that's about it. They don't explain themselves well, or at all, really. These groups need serious-money backing from philanthropists that believe in 2A as an endorsement.

They have been spamming my burner email for years, they appear to be another Dudley Brown type organization that claims victory whenever pro gun legislation becomes law, and instead of actual pro 2 A lobbying they try to bring down actual legit pro 2A organizations that do the dirty work on lobbying and lawsuits.

I see a lot of people asking for "money" but what about "time?" If someone said "Hey, we need volunteers to hand out pamphlets" or "we need people to help dig into a given topic" or something practical, I'd be all for it -- because I know my investment is going towards the very thing they're asking.

Nothing changes here in NY unless the Constitution is opened and changed and an official 2nd amendment is added! Until then, it will only be business as usual! Especially since the SCOTUS abandoned residents in NY Shitty when they promised not to do what they been doing for decades! Nothing will change here.

So resident citizens who cherish their 2A Rights will continue to do so as they've always done. On their own, in their own way, in their own privacy! (See Safe-Act registrations!)

How about you fight for us without the need for signups and contributions!? How about you do somethig FIRST, price your mettle and then come around with your hat! Otherwise you're just another snake oil salesman!

I'm a cynic at heart, so take it where it's coming from!

If they accomplish one of those task, then I will donate $500 to them. I will not longer be donating money in hope of something happening. I will donate after something has happened. Kinda like paying for services rendered.

Aaron Dorr isn't from New York. His wife was originally from somewhere in the Rochester area. He and his brothers appear to run a multitude of similar sounding gun groups in other states. I do not believe Aaron Dorr has much understanding of New York politics. He is registered as a paid lobbyist for NYSFA and got some of the Republicans to introduce a SYG bill in Albany. The people who are listed as having formed the NYSFA corporation are unknown to me.

Ask them how they will be using your money. If they give you a sensible, straight answer then consider supporting them. If they waffle about, don't support them. There is a tremendous amount of 'activism" grift happening across the entire political spectrum. However local organizations are generally your best bang for the buck for your dollar. I agree with @libertysnake that is quite suspicious for a legitimate activist organization to panhandle for money bit not for time.
It is a dreadful shame that western civilization has become so populated with duplicitous money hungry whores. It's seems like all of society has degenerated into one big grift.

Dorr did say they were going to run web ads targeting electeds last year and followed through targeting two Senators, one from New Paltz the other from Long Island. How effective was this I don't know.

It is equall folly to expect tossing some bucks at an organization to solve all our problems as well.
I think it is best to support individual court battles, fund legal defenses, lawyer/court fees and such. Donate to the go fund me campaigns, or find ways to get bucks to those fighting in court when crowd funding denies them.

I believe NYSFA was incorporated in 2018.

I spoke with Dorr and he said he formed the group because he felt the others were ineffective. He has a strong dislike for one person in particular.

Obviously winning is ideal, but at this point I'd even take an organization that legitimately tries to improve 2A protections for NYers.
