The French have no guns and no will to defend themselves. The French government has told its people for far too long if you pick up a gun someone will die. The French citizens believe it. Everyone I’ve met and worked with says the same thing. It’s so expensive to go to a shooting range none of them ever try it. A few farmers have guns and that’s about it.

The cynic in me agrees. However, do you think anything like the whole yellow vest movement could happen here? I have doubts. When you think about it, with everything going on here with our government and politics, we should have been in the streets a while ago. While the French might prefer to make love to their faces and have a bad war record, they do have a history of revolt and overthrowing their government.

The reason for the yellow vest movement in my opinion is the entire country is basically in a union. Think the subway guys striking and shutting down the subway. They feel empowered to do things like striking and protesting. I don’t see it getting to the level of a civil war. They don’t have the arms for that or the stomach IMO.
