Is it too much to expect a handgun be shipped ffrom the manufacturer with its integrated Laser zeroed in ?

I recently purchased a S&W Bodyguard with built-in CT laser.

At least, according to the iron sights, it is way off.

I have ordered a Bore Sight Laser so as to adjust the CT under-barrel laser to be accurate.

But should that be needed ?

Not a big deal, and part of the fun of getting a new gun.

Aim at a point as far away as possible. Adjust the laser to hit the same spot while you're aiming at it. Then verify and tweak as needed at the range.

Use the opportunity to do lots of dry fire practice with your new rig.

nope .. the person at the factory zeroed it to him or her or used the zero bench ( to remove human error ) .. was not zeroed to the way you hold it , flinch .. and many other things .. like ammo used if even was used ..

you want a real answer ... contact Julie Golob on her social media ;) she will answer question and even make a new video if needed ..
i posted a comment on her race gun vid she did .. what's the wings for .. she made another video explaining them .. just give her time ..
she is a busy awesome lady ..

I suppose I'd answer that with a resounding.. meh. Yeah, when you're paying the price of a gun I suppose they should do it, but not a big deal and you may want to set it for a different vertical height/distance than they would assume anyway.

I have a very similar (but removable) kind of laser on a P938 (and never ever use it because I just don't bother replacing the batteries). They're very easy to adjust, but they're also very easy to throw off when you remove it or re-tighten down the screws holding it on to the trigger guard and such. I guess that's not a problem on the integrated one. The first gen sig brand 938 lasers have a tendency to go on by accident (button is too far out and gets pushed when holstering and such) and ate up batteries like crazy. The newer ones have fixed that I think.
Although it sounds a little silly, the only reason I actually keep mine attached to the gun (as my last set of batteries have been dead for years), is simply because my best holster for the gun was made to accommodate the laser. It's better for me to just leave a non-functioning laser on then to shell out the bucks for another high quality leather holster.

I don't know that a laser bore sight is going to be of much use though. They aren't really designed to line up perfectly. This is especially true on the relatively inexpensive end, but even then a laser bore sight is designed mainly just to get you on paper with an optic (usually a scope), and be adjusted from there for precision. Your weapon laser, not being an optic, will be quite simple enough to just adjust to your irons at a distance that you want it to be best vertically aligned to. A laser bore sight just isn't useful for that.. in my opinion anyway.

I’d check to make sure it’s installed properly if it’s that far off. I also wouldn’t expect it to be zeroed. Close yes but not dead on.
