The video has a good point. The hips hold up the rest of the body and arteries run through it.
Right. Pelvis shots slow down the threat. If you have a threat coming at you and the torso shots have not stopped it, the pelvis shot will slow the advance buying time. The caveat on the pelvis shot is that while it is effective in putting the opponent on the ground, it does not immediately take him out of the fight. It buys you time to end fight
My training was two in chest, but if opponent was upright then two in pelvis, then one in head. If opponent was obviously in body armor, skip the chest shots. But the pelvis shot does not stop opponent from using arms and chest to accurately shoot at you, you have not broken down his upper body.

2 to the head, one to the other head ?Two to the balls and one to the head. Threat might kill himself after that pain.
Also, less chance of the jury finding you guilty of something as well since you did not 'shoot to kill'.The main advantage of torso shots is the large target area close to the center of mass. That means it can't change direction as quickly, and the zone of effectiveness is largest. Misses are likely to hit other effective areas of the target.
If you target COM and hit 10 inches high, that's still going to be very effective LoL.
Pelvis has the advantage over the head that it's less mobile and more predictable.
It's main disadvantage over the head is that it's less effective.
But, one things sure. If you get a pelvis hit in, on your attacket, you're not going to have a hard time escaping anyway.
It may not take them out of the fight, but most of the time it takes the fight out of them. A 165 grain .357 mag round in the right groin makes MOST bad guys give up instantaneously. The caveat on the pelvis shot is that while it is effective in putting the opponent on the ground, it does not immediately take him out of the fight. I was referring to the head guys think with the most.2 to the head, one to the other head ?
If you hit an artery just wait 2 mins behind cover. It may not take them out of the fight, but most of the time it takes the fight out of them. A 165 grain .357 mag round in the right groin makes MOST bad guys give up instantaneously.
Talking about your 2 best friends, and not the ones in the Winnebago.I was referring to the head guys think with the most.
I’m sure shooting some one in the pelvic area would be immensely painful and slow them down. Also as stated many areas with huge amounts of blood flow there. I think it’s a good alternative or option when compared to center mass. Lungs and heart are the best and lots of blood flow to those areas as well. To me for the most part anyone shot outside of the arms is a good hit and will do some damage slowing them down while providing you the upper hand. Yes some areas a better than others.
For sure most people will still keep fighting for a few minutes and that’s to be expected. Only Hollywood thinks when you shoot someone in the chest they drop dead immediately. There was a great video I watched once explain shot placement. Lungs are terrible place to shoot. Heart and arteries (pumpers) are second best but still allow someone to keep fighting for a couple more mins. The only place to shoot someone to completely take them out of the fight is the brain (switch).
So true. Everyone knows of course brain stem shot, lights out. Heart shot is very quick too. Then any large arteries. The objective is to get the blood pressure to zero as quickly as possible. Stop the heart or bleed out very quick. A large drop in BP and the person goes unconscious. The pelvic region has a large artery. For sure most people will still keep fighting for a few minutes and that’s to be expected.
