U try gander?No G22 in the case.
Grab the new GP100 in 10 mm and shoot the 40s through it
BOOOOOOOOOOOThe single best reason not to get a .40S&W is... it's a .40S&W.
The single best reason not to get a .40S&W is... is a good deal on a 9mm conversion barrel
Did 9mm become a dying caliber because LEO moved away from it for the 40? No it didn't. Now they are going back to the 9mm. 40 isn't dying. What does that even mean? Dying. Dying as in 22 WRF? I don't think so. You can still get 22 WRF even though no one makes guns in that caliber now. I'm not riding this caliber fad BS.
Typical.Hahahhahahaha hahhaha.
When Leo's went away from the 9mm, gun manufacturers were still making/coming out with new guns in 9mm, I legit cant seem to find any major new. 40 release in the last 2 or 3 years and no prospective ones coming up
Typical.
oops, Best .40 Pistols to Own in 2018 - [Top 10] Reviews & Buyer's Guide seems there are still plenty of guns in 40. and just because there aren't "new models" reinventing the wheel in your chosen caliber doesn't mean the caliber is dead. sales figures on ammo purchases would be a better indicator of that.
No, it just means the round isn't dead. Thanks for calling me a Boomer and a Fudd. You are Wrong on both counts. No that just means companies still have the tooling and are keeping those offerings because they know boomers and fudds will still buy the .40 because they cant do any actual research past internet myths about "best of both worlds" because most of them cant even restart their router if the internet goes out

Lol, I am haha. All I'm saying is 40 will be around for a long while. I know it's gone out of favor with LEO Etc. but it still has a following and I don't consider it dead by any means. in fact when SHTF, it may be one of the only rounds left on the shelf. Now you sound extra fuddy

Granted. Relative is relative though.Fucking .38super has been around for a long time, doesnt make it all that relative of a round
Exactly. Except for the energy part. That's myth. Here is a good article that explains how it's not that 40s&w is bad or going away, its just that 9mm has gotten a lot better (which I agree with, it has). Keefe Report: Seriously, Is the .40 S&W Dead?
I'm not denying that 9mm has surpassed 40 s&w, I'm just saying it's not disappearing anytime soon. If someone wants to get a 40s&w handgun, let them. What is the harm especially when in most cases you can easily and cheaply convert the handgun to another caliber. That's why I bought my G23, for the versatility, not because I thought 40s&w was the end all be all.@ArmedCorgi , it's a dying caliber because tests have proven that 9mm expands and penetrates to the same levels. The additional recoil impulse and cost isn't worth it.
Sure new guns still come out in .40 but some manufacturers don't even bother to make models in it.
No emotion. Just facts. Yes it's heavier by about 30 grains from it's heavier points in both calibers. But no it's not moving at a higher velocity. They go at about the same velocity. So whether the weight alone makes it more powerful, it depends when both the 9mm and the .40 expand and penetrate to about the same depth with inches and millimeters of one another. To the OP if you think you want a 40 S&W get one. Nothing wrong with it, some guys are emotional attached to 'their' caliber and feel everyone else should see the world the same way they do.
Compared to 9mm the ammo is more expensive and there is more recoil, but it is typically a bigger heavier bullet moving at a higher velocity. Yes, it will wear a pistol out faster. None of this should be a surprise since it is a more powerful caliber.

As far as if the OP should get one? Why not? It's his money. He should buy whatever he wants. But we can tell him the facts too in case his decision was based on the thought that it was more powerful to make a difference.
Oh but they do. Facts are facts. They both behave the same in a body. But like I said earlier, he, you, or I can buy whatever we want so what's the beef?It is more powerful any way you cut it. The fastest 147 grain 9s just crack 1000 fps and many 155 grain and heavier are well over that and sone are over 1100 fps.
The OP is asking about buying a new pistol, and you are trashing the caliber, without even knowing what the intended purpose is. He at no point said he was using it for carry or defense and you keep carrying on with your "facts" that have no relevance here.
