The reason "society" doesn't talk about this issue is because the overlap between one parent households and certain groups is too large. It is the very definition of a "politically incorrect" conversation. The welfare state was the beginning of the end for this country. The people pushing for it were well intentioned but the best you could say about them is they were naive. There were voices against the welfare state from the start and their warnings were ignored.

And if you get to the root of why there are so many single parent households, it will all boil down to economics. No jobs for the uneducated. No jobs in factories like days of old when young black men worked in them. So to make a buck, they take to the streets and become arrested. You see this in all poor communities even trailer parks were the young men resort to selling drugs and guns.
The cycle continues when that young boy grows up. Years ago before crack when we had tons of factory jobs, blacks had more of a normal family setting.

I disagree wholeheartedly. Cut all my fingers off and I can still count on one hand all the girls in my high school class who got pregnant. Being poor does not mean a 16 year has to go and sleep around without protection.
As for the economy the unemployment rate in February was 3.5%. If you're chronically unemployed in that environment something is wrong with you, it's not the economy.
Black single family households have risen in past decades, but they have for all races as well. This is not an economic issue but a societal one. It's even part of why we're all so fucking fat now. Society has just changed. We do not hold ourselves to any standards like we used to.

How many years ago where you were in school? Also tell me how many factory jobs there were. I’m guessing there were a lot more than now. Now there are none. As a prime example, look at Detroit. Look at the crime rates post and prior factories.
As with everything, there are exceptions. Some families will never turn to a life of crime on crimes that shouldn’t even be crimes to make a buck but lots do but many do.
It’s only going to get worse when McDonald’s doesn’t have employees anymore. Slowly and slowly, unskilled labor is going away entirely and when it does, many more well turn into a life of crime for instant satisfaction in making a buck.

A year from now, cars will be stopped and searched with loopholes provided by SCOTUS to find crimes that shouldn’t be crimes. Cops will have their egos when the citizenry doesn’t submit to their liking. Apple will open another plant in China or Mexico.

And I still see no reason why a poor person has to get pregnant as a teenager. And that sets the teenage down an absolutely horrific path unless they have a strong family unit to help them. And if they had that unit odds are they wouldn't have been the kind of person to get pregnant as a teenager anyway. Poverty is no way excuses the rampant increase in single parent households. We are the wealthiest we've ever been, yet this is a modern phenomenon, across all races.
I absolutely agree with you re unskilled labor. I completely see a future of Wall-E with ever rising rates of unemployment, universal basic income, and we're basically being kept by robots with shrinking numbers of elite and intellectual workers actually running the show.

They don’t have to get pregnant but unfortunately they do. It’s due to instant gratification. Poor suffer from that. They do not ever think of the future for the most part. Even in all white countries like Sweden and Russia, the poor commit crimes and there are more single mothers amongst the poor.
Sweden has an extremely low crime rate while Russia has a high one. Economics is the factor there. There are more poor in Russia than Sweden. And percentage to percentage based on population, Russia/ Ukraine has more single mothers if you were to divide the population ratios equally.

Roughly 15 somewhat years ago, I moved to Orange County from the city. I did a lot of online dating. I’m not a playboy or the prettiest guy out there. But what ended up happening is that I dated (If you want to call booty calls that) a lot of single mothers. Women that lived in trailer parks and converted basement apartments.
Many let me do anything. No condom. They didn’t seem to care. They were having fun because they weren’t working and locked up in the house all day. So Friday night comes along they want to have fun. They cannot leave the house and date normally because they have no babysitter. So when the kids go to bed, I came over.

Yes , police are where the rubber meets the road , this is not a matter of one incident causing another it is a matter of millions of small ones over decades and people finally snapping .
This country is so vast with dense cities and wide open county they obviously cannot be policed the same. I dont have an answer but something has to change . A start would be treating even the lowest scumbag with respect, if he is guilty he will be fined punished jailed whatever . An example of this would be the state trooper that was filmed screaming at someone and treating him and his property like complete crap, these actions are not warranted and happens all day every day. Now petty little incidents will be filmed and go on the internet and piss off millions of people.
A month ago police where arresting people protesting over wanting to be able to go about their lives , to work . They were tackling and arresting people for not wearing a piece of paper on their face. Busting in business arresting fining pointing guns for people wanting to make a living. A few years ago NYPD was targeting neighborhoods and illegally searching people, do you really need a judge to tell you this isn’t right?
