DONE Ishapore 2A1

Throwing this one out there since these aren’t all too common. Looking for an Ishapore 2A1 in shooting condition.

On a separate note, I’m assuming I can use the mag on it since it’s old enough to be SAFE act exempt?

bolt action, 10 rounds Or less. Don’t force 11 into it.

Beleive these took 12 in the mag. Had one years ago and regret selling it. Get the updated extractor spring, should you find an Ishy. A lot of these had weak or substandard field replacements.

I believe you can have over capacity mags if 50 years or more but they need to be registered.

I can tell you the one I have only does 10. Not sure if there are different mags out there

Almost positive the factory Ishapore mags held 12 rounds of 308/7.62. You can tell an original because it has a small feed ramp on its front, by the bullet tip. This was put there when they made the jump from 303 to 308. Aftermarket mags are 10 rounders. If you have a 10 round mag, your GTG, otherwise block the factory 12 rounder so it only accepts 10.

Those are nice guns. I had no idea you cant have over 10 rounds in a bolt or pump action. But also I never owned one that held more then 10 rounds.

There were both 10 and 12 round magazines manufactured, make sure of what you are getting before purchase.
If you want a classic style military bolt gun just for a shooter, in .308, keep an eye out for the FR-8 too:

Only exception is tube fed .22’s.
