Blinken: You can’t operate in southern Gaza in the way you did in the north. There are two million Palestinians there. You need to evacuate fewer people from their homes, be more accurate in the attacks, not hit UN facilities, and ensure that there are enough protected areas [for civilians]. And if not? Then not to attack where there is a civilian population. What is your system of operation?

IDF Chief Herzi Halevi: We follow a number of principles — proportionality, distinction, and the laws of war. There were instances where we attacked on the basis of those principles, and instances where we decided not to attack, because we waited for a better opportunity.

Earlier this week, White House national security spokesman John Kirby said: “We don’t support southern operations, unless or until the Israelis can show that they’ve accounted for all the internally displaced people of Gaza.” He added that Israel had the “right and responsibility to eliminate” Hamas, though he did not explain how these two priorities could be reconciled.

It was not clear what Blinken meant by “credit” — whether financial credit from the U.S., or political credibility on the world stage.

What I think is happening is that the US is trying defuse a regional war which will draw in US forces and actually endanger Israel.

Turkey Iran Syria ( probably can throw in a lot of others including Jordan and Egypt and Pakistan.) have drawn red lines where they feel compelled to attack Isreal , if Isreal crosses those lines It will bring about a regional war in which US forces must be committed .

I belive these conditions were conveyed to the US and passed on to Isreal . Which would make sense why the US is attempting to reign in Isreal

Or, it could be the desperate attempt to fend off a civil war within the democratic party heading into an election year.

My guess is the arab nations would be perfectly fine if the Israelis killed most if not all of the palestinians. That is the best outcome for them. First, they won't have to deal with them within their own borders. Second, they get to condemn Israel publicly for years.

Thats not what they are saying though. Turkey and Iran have already threatened to jump in on behalf of the Palestinians. But humor me for a minute, and suppose Im right. Isreal would be faceing a regional war it cant win , the US lacks the will or the means to take on mulitple countrys in the mideast which could last for a decade . Israel belives the mideast is bluffing and wont do anything , It would be in the intrest of the US to then reign in Isreal before she kills herself

What this leader says is important. The world says for Israel to hold back and even stop.. .. While at the same time Total war is being spouted against them ... A promised war to continue..

Israel is not going to hold back. Screw the world. Israel will never be liked so they need to go for broke with Hamas and destroy them once and for all to the best of their ability.

That appears to be the case, but If destroying Hamas means the end of Isreal, of what good is it?

The point being , the exsistance of Isreal is at stake .If the US decides it doesn't have the means and the intention to fight a regional war and decides to hold back weapons , Israel is on its own.

I understand what you are saying. (I don't know why erdogan from Turkey is so hot for the Palestinians but the Iranians have been using them for decades). But if Israel faces defeat then their nukes will fly. I think both erdogan and the mullahs know this. Which makes me think they won't actually go to war with Israel. They'll do everything they can short of actually engaging hostilities. I suspect Hezbollah in the north will be used to hit the Israelis at some point.

You can keep a good thought, but Pakistan has told Turkey in the past they would give them nuclear weapons , ""To protect themselves"" ie: attack Isreal. Erogon stated in the first video "" Your end is near , Isreal can have all the nuclear weapons it wants, Your on the way out"""

I think unlike Ukraine, Israel likely has a few contingency plans for continuing to arm its self if Uncle Sam turns off the tap. It likely involves buddying up with Russia and China. Not good.

Thats a mistake Doc. without question Israel has a state of the art military. well trained . But thats not enough. theres a lot of other factors that come into play here. Its not just about weapons and will. The Ukrainians are learning a hard lesson about weapons right now. the Iron dome didn't go as well as advertised either. The German army got its ass handed to them too.

Isreal can't rename a bridge without Iran threatening to start a war over it.

They cannot be allowed a hecklers veto over what is by definition an internal Isreali matter.

If Iran and Turkey are so worried about Palestinians, then they should start accepting refugees.

The Isrealis would gladly pay to ship as many as they will take.

Hell, Isreal would probably offer to buy out whatever property the Palestinians who are leaving claim to own. "Here's your $40k and a ticket on a boat, don't let the door hit your ass on the way out".

Does the motivation really matter? who cares, whos right or wrong in this situation. the thing to do is to avoid a regional conflict costing millions of lives and possibly the destruction of Isreal .

If your in combat, and the enemy opens up on you from the treeline, does it really matter whether your country is right or wrong? who cares? You take cover and return fire. Its about surviving, I believe thats why the US is reigning in Isreal . Not because they side with the Palestinians, BUt because of threat of a regional war which could drag in the US when We are at our weakest point since the early 1900's

AMMAN (Reuters) - Jordan said on Tuesday the army had beefed up its presence along its borders with Israel and warned that any Israeli attempt to forcibly push Palestinians across the Jordan River would represent a breach of its peace accord with its neighbour.

Ya really think they sent armored units to stop illegal immigration? They are sending a message.

Approximately 1,000 boats will gather in Turkey on Wednesday before heading toward Gaza in an attempt to break the Israeli blockade and disrupt maritime trade coming into Israel during the war with Hamas, in an apparent repeat of similar attempts from over a decade ago.Nov 21, 2023


Last time they did this 10 Turkish soldiers were killed by Isreali commandos
