I was an early backer on this on Kickstarter and have it. It's pretty cool, but the LaserLyte system is much better. I have both systems and always use the LaserLyte over the iTarget

I like this open-source (free) software. It works with any of the major laser cartridges and if you have a projector you can make an interactive shooting gallery. It does require a computer and web cam though so not as easy to set up.

It's easier and more convenient to use. The LaserLyte stays on a shelf in my basement, all I have to do is flip the switch on it and start shooting lasers at it. The iTarget uses a phone and a stand. You have to position the phone on the stand looking at the target, then you have to calibrate it a bit. It's really easy to calibrate and only takes a minute, but it relies on the phone and the app on the phone to do all the work so it has an extra variable. This also has it's benefits - I have an old Android phone that I use for it and also can Chromecast the target to the big screen which is cool but a novelty that wears off fast.

I find myself only using the iTarget system when I want multiple targets set up at the same time when competing against friends.

I cast mine to my TV over Google Cast using an Android phone.

I used iTarget laser ammo and liked it a lot. The only inconvenience is that smartphone screen is not really comfortable for looking at from the distance of 10-15 yards. So I made a simple Python-based app that does the basic detection of laser spot 'hits' and displays them on PC screen. Works with any web/usb camera, I tried it with Windows 7 and windows 10. Is anybody interested of trying this app and giving me a feedback? Application is called LTarget; I made it available from my public dropbox folder.
