While I'd vote for Trump again I'd rather have DeSantis run. Trump is too old at this point.

I'd like to see Trump as the Republican kingmaker. He should back a candidate that supports Trump's policies and has been a practical, constitutional, conservative. Trump should hold rallies in support of that candidate, do his "show" (which he loves to do), and energize the base. Perhaps, even run for a Florida house seat and make a play to become Speaker.
I'd like the candidate to be Desantis.
I will say that I don't think there is anyone better than Trump to have representing us in trade negotiations. Or negotiations in general, he is very shrewd in that regard, particularly with the Chinese.
In terms of foreign policy I think he is one of the best presidents we have ever had. I think his domestic policy outside of economic matters was weak though. Trump is a little Nixonesque really.
This man worries me, almost too good to be true and some of his policies say that he is in it for getting elected not for what he believes.

I agree with the age thing with Trump. He was in a perfect window for presidency and to end his second term when he was a bit over the hill. As we get closer to 2024 he will only get older. We all will. As far as whos next. I honestly don't know if I care. Or if it even matters at this point. It will almost assuredly be just another politician that will bring more of the same. Not being a politician was why Trump was a once in a lifetime president and was much more effective than his predecessors. All that aside, the elections are compromised anyhow. Wait until you see the circus brewing for 2024.

All politicians are like that to one extent or the other.
DeSantis has stood up to considerable pressure and is one of the rare Republicans to stand up to the democrats and tell them to puss off. The governor of Texas, Greg Abbott seems more like tge typical week kneed, fold-like-an-accordian, republican.
