Was my understanding SCOTUS was passing on cases because chief justice Roberts was unreliable. Thi may change everything
Or wait for nearly the same suit from California to be heard
Possibly. Most of the cases I have read, have been rather weak. Well, I am not all that smart, but, that is how I read them.

These communist thugs want to introduce heavy weighted politics into the judiciary branch that should
be 100% removed from politics so it can do what it is designed to do as dictated by the checks and balances.
On the subject of health care any country should have some sort of system where all their citizens can have
access to health care and if you have someone sick in the family not fear going bankrupt in the process.
Same thing with education. These are the pillars of any civilized society and if citizens pay taxes that should
be a top priority.
Healht care is not a right nor access to education but they are pretty much the foundation for a prosperous nation.

Well seeing as it was already ruled on and scotus didn't choose to hear the case years ago, it would have to make its way through the courts all over again to even potential be heard by scotus

Considering Biden is going to try to stack the court, if he gets in, they should try to invalidate as much controversal shit as possible in the next few months. Load it up, just to be safe. Invalidate the unSAFE act sooner than later.

My guess is NY DAs will not push their luck prosecuting people on any 2A violations anytime soon in order to not send cases to SCOTUS potentially, especially with it being riskier for their unconstitutional policies.
So you don't have any rights then.

The vote was 52-48 for Barrett, President Trump’s third nominee to the Supreme Court. The battle to confirm Barrett — whose installation occurred as more than 60 million people had already cast their ballots for president — also plunged a Senate already bruised by years of tit-for-tat skirmishes in the judicial wars into deeper partisan acrimony. Incensed Democrats charged Republicans with hypocrisy for blocking President Barack Obama’s Supreme Court nominee for eight months in 2016 and repeatedly pointed out that no justice has been confirmed this close to a presidential election.
But Republicans asserted their raw power, muscling Barrett’s nomination through in just over four weeks and with no bipartisan support — the first time that has occurred for a Supreme Court nominee in generations and a reflection of the politicized atmosphere around judicial fights.
“Her intellectual brilliance is unquestioned,” Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) said of Barrett on Sunday. “Her command of the law is remarkable. Her integrity is above reproach.”

At this point in history we can certainly say every human has some pretty fundamental natural rights regardless of what a man made paper says.
The rights do not even need to be acknowledged by anyone to be equally valid.
Societies, modern and old, might acknowledge those or not, limit them or not, and most likely are presented along with a series of obligations.
Human species evolved and thrived pretty well with a set of rights and obligations. It is known as the tribe/village system that
we are hardwired for through thousands of years of evolution.
This is a subject of study in the fields of anthropology and neuroscience.
As a normal non-privileged citizen (ie. not a LEO, etc.) go to your LGS in NY and buy a normal AR-15 then. If you have a right to it that the government isn't allowed to restrict, then the sale should go through no problem. My guess is that you will be unsuccessful, by the logic I originally quoted that would indicate that you don't have that right then.
