Wow, this is huge. Preliminary injunctions are only given when the judge feels there's a pretty good chance they'll win at trial. That said, we all know the en banc hearing (assuming it gets that far) will just overturn it.

So the next game after the loss will be "Government compensation of confiscated magazines" they'll give $5 to you for each magazine that holds more than 10 and they'll pass the new law..this is California people...
This is great news; not just for the West Coast. This can possibly be a turn around for other laws as well. New York residents can and will use this as guide to fight our horrible laws.

They can argue that a 50 or 100rd drum is unusual - fine. But 20rd Magazines are the universal standard.

We already have circuit splits that they've declined to rule on.
This is something that many of us were asking during the passage of SAFE Act. I can understand passing laws that make sense, but a Magazine restriction has no sense involved.
I can change mags and shoot the rounds faster than most can shoot using one larger mag.
Magazine changing has become a competitive sport around here, and people are getting really good at it.

Anyone who talks about mag cap restrictions slowing down a shooter, or autos being a "hail of bullets" needs to check out a Jerry Miculek video, and remind them that is a 6 shot revolver.

You need to be reminded every now and then that it's not just for the looks. Somebody like me- my ar's are not my goto hd weapons. I hate the thorsden stock, and I refuse to spend all the extra money to keep them featureless just to try and please king Andy. This is why I started the T-nut thread at the other forum. Stick it up Cuomos ass for two dollars. When the time comes that I NEED to have detachable mags for the ar, I'll take the 20 seconds to put the standard one back in.Unless you fix your magazine like most like around here for looks.

The day an AR15, a Glock, M&P, Sig, Ruger, or CZ shipped from the factory with a 10 round only magazine was the day we we're stuck with 10 round only magazines.
Now....if we're talking about compensation for banned items that have to be turned in, enjoy your waiting for what will be most likely a "bad check" from the State of California worth just about nothing.
