Had 2 people “remind” me about a mask. One was a girl at the front hostess stand. I just said I have an exemption. She didn’t say anything further. She wasn’t a bitch about it or anything.

Second was a guy who I presume is the/an owner. Asked very politely. I told him I had a medical exemption. He said “really? Ok.” Nice guy. He gave me no trouble and I gave none to him.

The first the owner would find out would be a week later when some health department official shows up with the picture of you that Karen took on her cell phone and sent to him, and his supervisor.

I get that side of it but many places are saying no make no service. I never asked if there’s a medical exemption because I don’t have a reason to ask that.

Once he is even aware of an issue, the decision to shut him down will have already have been made.

If the police tell me to leave, I will. That is very unlikely as the manager would first have to talk to me and challenge me. This has not been my experience. Every time the person backs down immediately when I cite the exemption in the EO.

If a place closes, I will just go somewhere else. There is more than one place that sells Cheerios and TP. But, again, we won't have to worry about that as it has never happened thus far.

That's what I do, I say I WILL NOT COMPLY I'm not sick... Some stores get my money some others do not. It's up to them.

Either way, I always come back home with what I need.

In the rural small village closest to me it's not uncommon to see people not wearing masks.
In the small city closest to me, it's the other way around. But I have found some stores in the city that wants my money also.

This is very regional right now. Up here some people just don’t wear masks. I imagine it makes all the business owners nervous, because they do not want to get sucked into that fight.

Well we haven't seen any cases of places being shuttered for anything other than egregious violations so at least up to this point the exemptions are being honored and there is no evidence to suggest that will change.

Blatant and egregious violations. Not the same thing. I have already addressed this. For now the EO exemption stands and I will follow it exactly as written and will not walk around with a diaper on my face. If the EO language changes in the future, I'll worry about it then.

There is a New York Restaurant Association, why don't they as a group tell the mayor to piss off and just open for service as a bloc?!?!?!?!? Virtually every business belongs to an association!
