Just got a news alert that erie county NY has curfew 10:30 to 7:00am

That was Saturday night. 6 hand guns, two pellet guns and one AR. All with ammo was stolen.
I'm sure they're all in beautiful condition coming from a pawn shop on Bailey. Collectors pieces for sure.

Yeah I saw that. They said shotgun, rifles and AR15. Sounded redundant because ar15 is a rifle.
I thought the curfew was to prevent rioting and looting, not too silence the peaceful protestors. Silly me.

There should not be a curfew. The bad actors should be punished and handled. We have the first amendment for a reason just like the second amendment.
How would you guys feel if they told you you could carry a gun from 7 am to 10 pm. You wouldn’t like it would you? I agree they are doing this to cause problem but they need to just handle the problems as they arrive. Honestly the curfew will make things worse just as the quarantine did. More government fuckery will just make this worse!!

I don't believe there should be curfews either. In your example we wouldn't be tearing the city apart. I can understand the city's position, even if I don't condone it.

There should be no curfew.
At the same time, "peaceful" protestors should voluntarily stay home if riots are expected.
If you are providing cover for rioters then you are not entirely peaceful.

Ask @Airborneguy how many officers they are losing every day to retirement. There are other factors as well that I cannot discuss.

Certainly there was no intent there to do that. Wish the guy would have just left when ordered to do so repeatedly. Not a good look. Sad!

The video doesn't match the story I heard on the radio earlier today...this looks bad. I know the order to end the protest had been given, but pushing him backwards like that and causing a head injury seems inappropriate. Isn't this the kind of shit everyone is protesting about to begin with ?
After watching it a few more times, I don't think he was pushed, but rather the one officer that was approaching him startled him and he stepped backwards and tripped doing so. Still, it's not a good optic. The 2 officers he was interacting with didn't seem concerned with him or his actions, just the third one that approached quickly. Now I'm not sure what to make of this.

So just sit there with him for hours until he decides to leave? Law and order must be maintained. They certainly didn’t have intent to break his head open but they were justified in using force to execute a lawful order. Should they have got down on their knees and begged? Follow lawful orders and you will have no problems.
