Why not?A firefighter doesn’t carry an ax around when going out and about.
No it’s not. It’s a tool assigned to the firetruck. If the cop’s pistol was assigned to the car along with his bolt cutters, battering ram, and anything else in the trunk, you’d have a point. Why not?
It's part of the uniform and by golly they have every right to carry it around in case there is an emergency.
I gotta go willjr on this, he's got a good point. No it’s not. It’s a tool assigned to the firetruck. If the cop’s pistol was assigned to the car along with his bolt cutters, battering ram, and anything else in the trunk, you’d have a point.
Not at all. Doesn't matter if it's assigned to the firehouse. It's part of the uniform that could be used in an emergency. The exact excuse they are using. No it’s not. Did you miss the entire paragraph where they said:no they're not.
The cop is required to carry the firearm on his person as part of his uniform.
The equivalent you are looking for with a firefighter would be something like his jacket.
The cop wasn't insisting on bringing in the AR he keeps in the trunk.
Regardless, the problem isn't really any of that. The problem is that Kay has an asinine policy, and when one of their managers attempted to actually follow it they threw them under the bus.
No, trespassing is only if they ask you to leave and you don't. He left when asked.Did you miss the entire paragraph where they said:
“If an emergency happens, here’s what you have to expect from an officer: an officer is going to be armed,” he told local station FOX 46. “That’s tools of the trade.”
?
The problem is the store has a no gun policy. The cop blatantly ignored it and got in a huff when they asked him to leave.
Trespassing for you and I. Persecution for the cop.
Not shop there? My friend was a state LEO in an agency that required him to carry while on- and off- duty.
What the fuck would he have done in this scenario, @Darth?
A firefighter doesn’t carry an ax around when going out and about.
That was Darth’s analogy. Not mine. Read from before my post. That’s a dumb analogy. Firefighters don’t carry axes during the vast majority of their career while doing even most FF’er duties. Cops ALWAYS have guns on them.
He shouldn’t have went in uniform though. That’s just dumb regardless except for very minor shopping.
That was Darth’s analogy. Not mine. Read from before my post.
That’s why I don’t ignore anyone. It breaks the thread. I’ve seen this confusion more than once.Oh shit, that’s pretty funny. I’ve been ignoring that loser for months. First time it’s affected a comment of mine lol.
What the fuck is wrong with you guys for not doing the same? Come on!
Lunch breaks are not required in NY.now were into lunch break laws .. in NY .. the Employer must allow them .. and if you take the meal break and then get called to work its a short break
and you get paid for the for the whole time your allowed for lunch ..
I got the impression that he had already picked out the ring and was just stopping in to pick it up. That seems like the sort or quick in and out that's reasonable. Plus, they said he was on lunch at the time. You have a point but I just got fed up. It’s the most retarded act I’ve ever seen in person or online. Not worth my time to even see it, much less have to choose whether or not to respond.
Anyway, did you see my second part? If I was in this guy’s chain of command I’d highly discourage doing anything like this in uniform. I mean I stop at the bank, get snacks, even sometimes grab medicine we need or little groceries for home, but that’s the extent of what I consider appropriate shopping while on-duty.
The uniformed deputy made his way to the Kay Jewelers in Statesville during his lunch break Tuesday after he got word that the ring he’d purchased for an upcoming proposal had been sized and was ready for him to pick up, the Iredell County Sheriff’s office said in a statement posted to Facebook.
Lunch breaks are not required in NY.
Are you suggesting that the store wouldn't complain if a firefighter had come in with an axe over his shoulder ?I used to plug my ears and run away when things didn't go my way too.
Back on topic, a firefighter will have an ax in an enmergency. The store has a no weapons policy. When can be cry about it until he gets his way?
I'm saying they very much would. Are you suggesting that the store wouldn't complain if a firefighter had come in with an axe over his shoulder ?
tell my boss that .. fk i keep telling them show me the word employee in it . LOL .. only the Employer has to allow them .. nothing on me taking it ..
fking tight wads ..
Tell the NYSDOCCS.tell my boss that .. fk i keep telling them show me the word employee in it . LOL .. only the Employer has to allow them .. nothing on me taking it ..
fking tight wads ..
So, the same thing this cop did, leave ?I'm saying they very much would.
The firefighter would have 2 options. Leave and come back without the offending item. Or cry until he gets his way , because damn it, he's entitled to shop there!
I know what most non privileged folks would do.
