Except he got in a huff and pulled the "muh uniform" line. So, the same thing this cop did, leave ?
I'm still not seeing your point.

Which any one of us could do.Except he got in a huff and pulled the "muh uniform" line.
I've skipped plenty of breaks when I was hourly too. I'm just explaining where the policy that you have to take them comes from. I fully recognize that policy gets overlooked many times.@spat .. ohhhh but where i work .. if its busy .. i'm going on lunch in 30 .. no were busy .. and you never get one .. its a fkin joke here lol .. and they dont get it . i gave up trying to explain it to them ..
But be didn't go to social media to complain. I'd applaud him if he did. I do.Which any one of us could do.
If I walked in there OCing and they turned me away I could go on social media and rant about the policy and it's stupidity too.
I could point out that I have a CCW and if I was concealing it I would have been allowed to go on about my business. I could even ask the company to change their policy to allow anyone with a CCW to carry in their stores.
And if they found my argument compelling they could change their policy. Just like they did for this guy.
This just isn't the case of a cop saying "muh badge", or a government demanding special privilege, that you make it out to be. He followed their policy, then complained that it was a bad policy, and got them to change it.
The equivalent in your firefighter and axe thing would be if the firefighter was turned away, he went home and complained to corporate, and they decided that in the future firefighters with axes should be allowed in.
While *I* think their policy should be every legal gun owner, It's their store they can do what they want. But be didn't go to social media to complain. I'd applaud him if he did. I do.
He complained and made a scene in the store. But that STILL isn't even the issue. Note his complaint. Was it "every business should allow every legal gun owner inside?" Nope! It was "I'm a cop and I am in uniform. You should let me come inside as I please."
And their response was tailored right to that. Any cop may come in.
Special cases for special people. Absolutely a case of "muh badge."
My question would be , what was he doing taking care of personal business while
on the tax payers time clock? Plus there is the use of an official vehicle and the expense of
driving it to Kay Jewelers to take care of his personal business to consider.
I don't buy the lunch break story. Think he went without lunch that day because he used up his lunch break time at the Jewelers?
I got the impression that he had already picked out the ring and was just stopping in to pick it up. That seems like the sort or quick in and out that's reasonable. Plus, they said he was on lunch at the time.
Nobody is arguing it isn't the store's right. While *I* think their policy should be every legal gun owner, It's their store they can do what they want.
While I would have obviously preferred that he advocated for gun owners in general, I can't complain that he chose a smaller subset that he felt he had a higher chance of success with.
Just like I think a cake shop should make a cake for anyone who comes in, but if the owner of the shop wants to exclude some group that should be their right.
Yes but if he was on lunch break, that implies he was going back on the clock. I can think of so many scenarios where he would become separated from that car for long periods of time. Just not the brightest decision in my opinion.
So, cop goes into store, manager tells him to leave.Nobody is arguing it isn't the store's right.
It's very much their right to exclude anyone they wish. Including cops, as hard as that is for them to swallow.
Never thought we'd have a delusional cop hater on a forum like this but the more of darths posts I see the more I believe that's what he is.So, cop goes into store, manager tells him to leave.
He leaves, then complains that it's a stupid policy and they should at least allow uniformed LE to carry.
They agree with him and change the policy.
And somehow you are bent out of shape about it ?

Cop got his way= bad no matter how he did it.
He is not the only one!! The other failed the psych exam! Big boy here must have or could not pass the physical!!
They don’t sell them at Kay. #hedidntgotokayShould have opened the door, stood outside and hollered, 'hey, I want to buy that Rolex', and see what happens.

Let's try this again:So, cop goes into store, manager tells him to leave.
He leaves, then complains that it's a stupid policy and they should at least allow uniformed LE to carry.
They agree with him and change the policy.

Physiological exam, yeah, I'd pass that.
He also has the power to play his "run away with fingers in ears" card. The Fudd who thinks the 2nd Amendment is for sporting purposes is talking about me regarding the psychological . Myself and 2 other Hospital Police Officers who took the same exam were failed on the psychological back in 1999. I posted about it in another thread.
When he has nothing he resorts to insults. He’s a little man.
