All though I don't agree with the laws of our state in regards to hand guns, She did not follow the federal laws that allows us to travel with our firearms . She took a chance and lost. Why is this anybody else fault but Hers

NY law sucks. Not just gun laws but most of them, especially our gun laws. Know the law, again, one does not need to agree with the laws, just learn them and follow them.

I'd like to know the particulars in this case. Why was she stopped? Was it due to speeding? Rolling a stop sign? Texas license plates? Did she consent to a search? Ect. The article doesn't say shit.
I bet you any amount of money he called the cops on her when she got here and that there’s waaay more to this story than laughable claims of kidnapping.

I hate to be that guy but.... What if she said to herself that she'll carry anyway like some here have said because their life is worth it.
I don't want to dig up quotes from other threads but I know a guy who used to say that when he worked retail. Just saying.
And that is more than fine if she is willing and able to face the music when she gets jammed up.
Apparently she is not able nor is she willing. She has set up a GoFundMe account to have others pay for her choices.
There are many times that I do not follow the law, especially those that I disagree with; I am always willing to accept the consequences.
Will, my biggest issue with many of these arrests is that the "offenders" are not willing to admit they screwed up and they almost always ask for others to assist in paying for their choices.

I wouldn't admit that I screwed up if I got caught. Just being real. Many have gotten the charges dropped to Discon Summonses because they raised the money to fight it. I'd do the exact same thing she did and claimed ignorance.

If that is what it took to get the charges dropped, yes. I would play the ignorant veteran card and get my charges dropped just like that school teacher from Dutchess County who got caught in NYC and claimed she didn't know her permit wasn't valid there.
Let them risk turning the Sullivan Act upside-down. They don't want to.
This is my point, they break the law, whether it is a good law or not, then they expect others to pay for their choices.
I guess I still believe in personal responsibility.

Working there daily, I must say the attitude of people down there is one of shit and entitlement a lot of the time. I see it first hand.
Although, it doesn't apply to everyone working there. I worked with a good guy who was originally from West Virginia. We used to drink beer and chat about firearms a bunch after work sometimes. I still have to meet him in PA for a range day at some point -- seeing as he got fed up with NYC and just moved back to West Virginia recently.
