This was leaked out today. Upcoming Smith and Wesson CSX. Imagine if a 1911 and an M&P had a baby.

Details so far : single action only, no grip safety, has a straight back 1911 trigger but with a Glock style trigger “dingus”, aluminum framed with removable grip panel, 10 and 12 round magazines, 9mm, 3” barrel, fully ambidextrous.

It was posted up for a bit on social media but then was pulled down. No comment forth coming from smith and Wesson. Usually all that coupled with previous trade mark filing give serious credence that this is an up coming product that was not supposed to be shown to the public yet.

Well the regular shield is striker fired, and the shield ez has an internal hammer but has a pivoting trigger instead of a straight back trigger.

This would be bigger with 10 rounds flush fit magazine vs 6 rounds flush fit of the sig sauer P938 (think more like Springfield armory emp / Wilson combat EDCX9) plus the P9380 has a pivoting trigger and not a true straight back trigger like a 1911.

My thoughts as well. To me this looks like a $600-$700 pistol msrp. I’ve been looking for a Springfield armory EMP in 9mm with 3inch barrel and this looks to compete quite nicely.

I like the WMO’s but never thought they were worth $1200. I was getting ready to pull the trigger on buying one when gander outdoors was closing by me. I had dropped $4-5,000 already and said I’ll grab one next week. All guns were gone when I came back. I should have done it. I like the 4” black and stainless EMP. I also like the Wesson DWX compact and the STI Stucatto series, but I’m cheap.
I’m not a huge fan of the appearance of this gun, but I’ll take a look at it and see how it feels. I never liked the tabbed trigger SW has but this doesn’t have it. I’ll check it out and go from there.

I’m in the same boat. I absolutely love hammer fired guns but it seems all the new carry-able guns are striker fired (unless you want to drop $1500-3000) to have a new entry and new design into the category has my attention. I had a shield EZ (hammer fired) and loved it, but wanted more than 8 rounds. This might do the trick.

I love my shield and I shoot better with it than I do with my Glock23. I think it's this or an M&P compact in 9mm for my next pistol.

It’s fugly and I hate it already it probably will suck . At least that’s what I’ll keep telling myself and I’m sticking to it !

I like my M&Ps but not sure on this one.. saw the leaks on Reddit the other door before the OP deleted the post. Apparently was sent to an FFL early or by mistake. (or a gun writer getting a review sample)

Looks too smooth for a carry gun.. nothing a little skateboard tape/talon grips can't fix, but still..

They really do like their grip inserts don't they? Putting it on everything - M&P shotguns, rifles and this..

It's going to be an aluminum alloy. I can't see S&W using zinc...

It cuts cost for sure. But isn't aluminum light enough for a pistol frame? Curious to know what other metals are mixed in with the aluminum.
