I don't think so.
I guess the reason they can't really prosecute easily is because they've left it so vague? Who knows.
I don't think so.
Agreed. It has to be a pistol grip. Since there is no definition, than it at least has to resemble a pistol grip. Not just any grip.I think the monster man grip would survive a court challenge. The reason I think that is because the law refers to a "pistol" grip.
I would challenge the prosecution to show an example of any commercially manufactured pistol sold in the US that has a monster man style grip.
If installed on a pistol at the same angle to the barrel as it would be on a rifle, would the pistol still be usable in a "normal" fashion? Putting the semi-auto magazine complication aside, I think it would be pretty easy to mock something up to have an expert show how this grip angle is completely unsuitable for use on a pistol.
If the monster man is not a grip in the likeness of a grip used on a commercially available pistol, and it's physically unsuitable for use on a pistol, then how could it be deemed to be a "pistol" grip when mounted on a rifle?
Of course, that all relies on logic working within a liberal judge's head, and the unfortunate victim necessary to get a ruling on it.
@Lee Armory What barrels are you using? 4140, 4150? Chrome lined?
Pretty sure it's 4150 + nitride.
Good. That plus Polish parts will have me giving y'all a close look when I'm ready to buy an AK.We are using 4150 Nitrided Barrels. Local plant cooks at 1200 degrees as compared to 800 degrees elseware. Tougher barrel!
How about Molot thumbholes filled with kydex or something? If we can start shipping with the Monster Man Style Grip... hang on tight, here they come! =)

What about spade gripsAgreed. It has to be a pistol grip. Since there is no definition, than it at least has to resemble a pistol grip. Not just any grip.
What about spade grips

You would think that keltec and highpoint would take this to court in oder to have a way to sell the sub2000 and the carbine 995.Agreed. It has to be a pistol grip. Since there is no definition, than it at least has to resemble a pistol grip. Not just any grip.
They are legal but a novelty in my opinion. I cannot see any real use for them. What about spade grips

LOL I was being sarcasticThey are legal but a novelty in my opinion. I cannot see any real use for them.
Don't some folks on here have Veprs with filled thumbhole stocks? I know that is legal. Asinine but legal.
Asinine that I have to resort to such measures to get a rifle that is legal in practically every state, but as far as I'm concerned, I will do everything I can to encourage the importation of more so-called "assault weapons" into this state because the SAFE Act is a joke. FUAC!
Even though you have to patch the stock, those are beautiful rifles. Something about wood.

Ahhh, but that was only the cheap replacement stock. Look at the wood I took off so I wouldn't bugger it up!
It stands for "@#% you andy cuomo"I'm learning the phrase "FUAC" ......
Above stock is amazing! If you guys need your bolts polished we offer this service for $50 per bolt, but up in NY I'd advise to keep them oiled.

Do you think this would work? Make a CA ak bullet button , but without the hole for the bullet tip. Fix in a metal 10rd short mag and load from the baseplate.
