I’m not a fanboy, I just happen to own one brand more than the others because they work well, are durable, outperform most others, and aren’t known to randomly become bombs or burn people lmfaooo. I advocate for certain brands because they are good products. This is coming from someone who owns lights from Cloud Defensive, Modlite, Surefire, and Streamlight. People that try and justify Olight make me laugh. They tend use the excuse that they’re not an operator and don’t need that level of performance, instead of just saying that their light is inferior. They also like to try and use the argument that they don’t need excessive 10,000,000,000 lumens just shows that they haven’t actually taken any kind of low light training and don’t know how to properly use baseboard or umbrella lighting when the situation calls for it. But then people will use the argument that they want certain firearms/weaponry because they want the same level of equipment as possible adversary might have. So why not just use that same principle to everything instead of just settling on underperforming lights that are well known to have a terrible track record across many different models of their lights. Olight is a joke and is not a serious contender in duty level lights.

I wouldn't say I'm butthurt at all, just confused? Not just by you though, but I would say it boggles my mind how you're telling me that what I have, basically doesn't work and that I wasted my money on it, even though I'm satisfied as it achieves exactly what I wanted for a mounted light?
I did not mention that I ADORE olight or have the worlds greatest weapon mounted light ever to be produced. I'm just sharing my thoughts on my personal use. I am allowed to share my experience. I've found the pl mini was exactly what I was looking for, and it has worked just fine running my drills, live fire, drop testing, and also cold and wet weather this winter. It has also worked fine in combination with the side rail mounting too on my brace at different set lengths. I guess I could never harness the understanding of a REAL light though.
I'm sorry you seem to be bothered by the fact that mine works and also doesn't meet your specifications. I must now need low light training and a $500+ flashlight in order to be able to turn on a light on one of my pistols to then be in the cool club to know what a REAL weapon light is like. If only I owned more than one weapon light. lol I'm okay that you do not like olight stuff, man.
I'm not "justifying olight" silly goose. I purchased that model because of the overwhelmingly good reviews pretty much everywhere outside of this expert "WML" thread, the test videos, the adjustability, and the compact size. I like the quick detach mount with the Glock mount included and I wanted a light output sufficient enough for a home invasion in x square footage and have an instant index on the trigger finger.
Again, you as well cannot broadly dictate what is acceptable for me to use on my firearm in this situation. You don't know the area it would be used in, the weapon setup, and how it is changed and adapted for certain situations for carry to make any judgment of its limitations. Your analysis is based off broad assumption, separate component failures or recalls on another model, while comparing lights that do not offer the same capability or mounting options at all. So useless in another words.
As it stands, the light meets my criteria in performance and I like it. You guys can tell me it doesn't work or perform as much as you'd like. This is almost as stupid as debating lethality of gun calibers or cheaper guns to expensive guns.
I'm not justifying my purchase for anyone. When someone says, no that doesn't work when you don't have first hand use of the product, you cannot be taken seriously with any credit. Has it occured to you that perhaps, certain situations do not always require the same applications and therefore specifications, when you talk about "duty level" lights? You guys are acting like I'm an ambassador for olight or something. I do not give a shit about this company. I'm just calling out some spewed BS, that's all.

Many of the pistol mounted weapon lights, such as the ones mentioned above.. can in some cases be a serviceable option for long guns. Specifically mounting at the 12 oclock.
Situations were this would make sense could be with shorter guns with very limited rail space, mounting something like a TLR-1, x300u, or a PL350 (I think this is a great role for the PL350) at the 12 o'clock gives the end user decent light capability, ambidextrous control and takes up very little real-estate on the rail.
Here is an example of an x300u mounted infront of a front BUIS.

I have a Streamlight TLR-2 HL G mounted @ the 6 O'clock position, right in front of a verticle grip on my .300 Blk. It's God-awful bright, and strobes. It will blind anyone. I think it's pretty awesome. Now you can tell me what a POS it is and why I should have bought something else.

With all my interests its a bit overwhelming to deep dive and geek out on the nitty gritty details of everything. This is the exact reason I’m a member of many forums of different topics , it’s an efficient way to learn through others research and experience.
I’ve learned that 2 things you don’t skimp on is safety and security. Sure there are plenty of options that “will” work , however I’d gladly pay more for a product that is in fact more reliable. End of the day peace of mind goes a long way . I’ve had moments of “ dammit why didn’t I go with the better option”!? This type of equipment I don’t want that moment when I need it most . Thats why I chose Glock , Sig , S&W not a SCCY handgun for carry .

Glad to hear.. feel free to ask questions, I am by no means an expert, but I love geeking out on somethings, and wml is one of those things I like to keep up with. Both long guns and pistols
When I get a chance I plan on making a list up of the main popular rifle lights I mentioned above and what they offer (output and what not)
And go back and list cost for all the lights (base lights) then maybe add in cost and set ups for rifle lights

I believe I’m rather squared away with rifle and nightstand pistol wmls.
My biggest want is a great compact wml for CCW . Something that’s at or near the barrel length of a G19 . I’ve tried inforce aplc I really love the size an profile, however they are junk !
I now have an AIWB holster for g19 x300 , but it’s not comfortable for me . I can manage it if need be but the additional length just digs into my leg while sitting or squatting.
If you can wait.. the EPL-C from Cloud may just be your ticket.
If you can't wait well Streamlight TLR-7a/b is the go to for compact pistol lights..
Or TLR-7 as a stop gap until the EPL is released

Can’t really find an old Surefire 617 (Benelli M1 series forearm grip.) and from reading don’t know if folks were to thrilled with them. My question is, if there is a good flashlight mounting system option for the Benelli M1S90? Reason I looked for a dinosaur Surefire 617 is, that it’s a forearm mount and dedicated to that application I don’t like clamps and stuff scratching into the barrel or mag tube. This case being an old 1989 H&K import (NIB)
Any options or upgrades or maybe bring it into this century? Or maybe just keep searching for that Surefire 617?

Other benefit of the Cloud I forgot to mention, mainly because it's all speculation at this point. But CD said they plan on selling the light heads individually, so you can swap between the D and C heads depending on needs..

I know this is on a 1301 (iirc haven't watched the video in a while) but I wonder if a tube ring mount would be a solid option like the one John uses on his shotgun..
Another good solution may be something like a Surefire G2X (tech. it's a handheld but it's a very capable light that many still use on long guns) with a ring mount to the tub..
This would put it like the set up John has in his video (but he's using a modlite) same concept.
