Long eye relief scope

I'm looking for something in the 5"- 6" range. Googling gives me a ton of pistol scopes which are way too long, or regular rifle scopes in the 3-1/2"- 4" range. I want to push the objective lens down past the charging handle on a gun with a particularly strong recoil spring making it extremely difficult to operate said handle right below the objective lens. I know I can't be the only one to encounter this problem but finding something seems to be problematic. I don't want to put a riser on it because it adds more weight to an already heavy gun and the current height suits me fine. 1" or 30 mm tube is okay, I have rings for both.

What rifle / what power scope are you looking for?

I have a Vortex 2-7x mounted scout style on a Mossberg 18" 308 MVP bolt gun that I like a whole lot. In fact one of my favorite rifles and setups at the moment.

Have you looked at cantilever rings?

@Robin when putting my SCR together I had the same problem with the charging handle, so I got a wider handle which work well.

What type of magnification are you looking for?

AR-10. It is for hunting and 200 yards is about the maximum clear shot range where I hunt with 10-150 more the norm.
I did look at the Bushnell and have some misgivings about that brand. It is the only one I have found though that explicitly states. '6" eye relief'.
Its' funny in a way, when I google my specs, I get several sites, 10 best, 5 best. 8 best, etc., and don't provide just what the eye relief is, so following up on them, most are pistol scopes with 10"-18" relief or standard rifle scopes with a tad more than standard 3" to 3-1/2" like the Vortex. Or "scout" scopes with 8"-11".

I almost took a chance on the Bushnell this morning, then read some review's. Too big of a gamble for me. The search continues.

Here's a cheap chinese model that gets pretty average reviews, plus it has BDC reticle for 308, 1/4 MOA clicks, and a killer 13" eye relief.

How good are your eyes? A red dot technically has unlimited eye relief.

You might find that much relief be too much. Personal preference is what it is but the scope I have on my AR15 has 4" of relief and I wish it was more like 2" as I like to get right up on the charging handle. That said I occasionally run that scope on the Galil Ace 308 and it has never come close to biting me. Then again the Ace is a very soft shooting 308.

So I'm doing one of those mindless jobs today when, as so often happens, this thought came to me. With a fixed magazine 'allowing' an adjustable stock I moved it in a couple clicks, swapped out the scope with one that has better than an inch more eye relief and adjusted the placement of the scope to this new configuration. It puts the optical lens just ahead of the charging handle making it easily accessible and a snap to use. An unintended consequence is that it shifts the balance point ahead making it feel like I got a plum bob hanging off the end of the barrel which steadies it down and will make it a better off hand shooting gun.
Ideas sometimes show up like uninvited visitors at ones door step and it often pays to invite them in and entertain them.
