You totally stole my idea. But, a saw one of these Remington 700 ADL rifles with a heavy threaded barrel in 6.5 CM and I decided give it the same treatment.

I shot it in the stock ADL configuration last week, but I took it to the range today for the maiden voyage in this configuration.
I zeroed at 100 yards using 10 shots to make sure it was grouping. Then I dialed out to 1,000 yards. I took one shot to get the windage and elevation dialed in. I was all strikes from then on. I couldn’t be more pleased.
The ammo was Federal 140 gr. Match .

Got the 112 target magnum in 338 Lapua magnum out today for Initial shots. Put 20 rounds threw it, what a blast! Second has a desert eagle 50 AE next to it for size comparison. I have nick names my 112 target magnum “Big Momma”.

On the 338 Lapua it’s the vortex diamond back tactical 6-24X50 and on my evo it’s the vortex strike eagle ll.

The two oldest in my collection, both family hand me downs.
The top is a Meriden marked with a pat'd date July 9 1907 , a piece owned by my great grandfather
The bottom is a Stevens model 530A handed down by my grandfather
The brass 12 ga 00 buck came from my dad's ammo collection, I still remember him very carefully buffing the live black powder shells in his garage..

JC Higgins bolt action 12 gauge model 583. Wife's grandma's goose gun. Definitely time to clean this up. Got it from inlaws a few years ago.

1st off , your kitchen cabinets, the pulls, the table, and salt n pepper shaker bring back some serious memories of a house I grew up in,,, you're old or old school ?
#2 .. not knocking your rifle, I also have a some budget rifles and shotguns ( axis , all American Girsans .etc ).. I just never understood buying a lower cost rifle then spending the big dollar on scopes and accessories.. I'm ass backwards on most of my rigs.. Spend the money on a nice name brand walnut rifle then throw a cheap ass Simons or Bushnell on it..
Also I'm very aware that the youth axis I bought my daughter outshoots my pretty Winchester model 70..

2) The Ruger gets my Rem 700 "hand-me-downs". As I have upgraded the optics on the Rem, it's either let the 'old' scope sit in the closet, or make use of it. The Ruger is surprisingly accurate.
