I was gonna buy a new Benchmade knife but ended up buying this instead,,,,,,so I could bring all the old knives and the kitchen knives back to reality. It's not here yet,,,,patiently waiting

There are Kershaw models that are manufactured here in the good ole USA and those that are made in China. I'd stick to the good ole USA.

I bought the benchmade emissary and love it. It's light and slime. The spring assist is fast and has good blade steel. It's a great knife. I'm sorry I waited so long to buy one.

Need some criteria as noted in order to make a decent suggestion. Use/purpose, material, operation, budget, etc.
There are good cheap folders that can't cut or hold an edge for shit, there are cheap cutters that fall apart. Here's a general rule...
Cheap/Good/Reliable
You can only have 2 of the 3 at one time, choose wisely! For example, you can have cheap/good, but it won't last. You can have cheap/reliable but then it won't be good. If you want good/reliable it won't be cheap!

No cheap stuff. High quality. I have been looking at Benchmade and Zt. Have an Emissary and a 0770cf.
Look at Spyderco too. Every bit the equal of Benchmade or ZT. Superior in some ways.

Cold steel has some good beater knives that are reasonable. Bench made is a better knife, but your going to pay for it. I found anything cheaper than 60 or 70 bucks doesn't hold an edge well. My criteria is work knife, something I may need , to open boxes cut wire or something and self defense knife.
I ask myself if I had to choose one knife to defend myself, That is legal to carry , what would it be, and can I use that knife for general purpose ?
So it has to be rugged, sharp, and hold an edge .For me, money is a non issue, (No,Im not rich) its performance and reliability, I need it to work every time I reach for it. Its like buying a cheap scope for an rifle. Quality costs money. no matter if your roofing your house , putting in new cupboards, buying a car. If Quality and performance is your standard , then break out your check book. If you just want cheap and sharp , you can pick up a box razor at Harbor freight for about a buck fifty.

As a suggestion, keep intent separated in consideration for purchase, as noted and agree with ^^^above^^^ @holdover

Benchmade has an amazing customer service dept with free lifetime sharpening. They will also replace wore parts. I have a Mini Grip and a Mini and full-sized Barrage. They are hard to beat. I also have a few USA Kershaw knives. They are great bang for the buck pieces. As a lefty I need to have ambi clip locations.

Well here it is. I just picked up my new Benchmade Crooked River at Cabella’s. They only had the one on display so I got 10% off. So instead of $199.99 I got it for $179.99. Then they gave me a pair of Benchmade glasses. Thanks for everyone’s input and advice.

Yes I wanted one of those. It was too heavy for a daily carry though. I love the look of them tough. Really nice choice.
