Yes it does. All you have to do is remove the magazine by whatever means the lock allows you to do so and it'll accept another one.

I think this is more of a social media site of sorts like Facebook comprised of NY gun owners. On this site you'll find jokes, pictures, political threads, ect. But rarely any gun content. For real gun content, places like AR15.com, SKS Boards, M14forum.com, ect fit the bill.

no its a FUAC stupid law .. what if you have a AR in 5.56 /.223 .. and only glock 9mm or 10mm mags on you or at home .. you have no mags for it in that cal ..
That's the problem with the law. With a fixed magazine, it can not accept a magazine. Doesn't define anything else. We all know this, I've amused myself enough for today, I won't add anymore input on the matter.
I think guys here play dumb because they want what they have to be legal. But English is English. They copied California law that they had at the time to the letter and later removed the part that said a fixed magazine is a magazine that can only be removed with tools to nullify the bullet button loophole.

Ill agree, and at the same time making a bigger mess by letting featureless and fixed mags be sold by the thousands. Don't tell me the state doesn't know that they have probably sold more ar's post safe than before it.
That's why people say to make it with a degree of permanence. Sure it isn't in the law but if they can't remove it, it can't accept another magazine.
At the same time I can show a court how to remove a permanent mag lock in about the same time as I can remove a standard one.
Yep. They know. It's all up to a county's particular DA to go after that. They don't because no one else has. But mark my words if one DA does go after them and is successful, the other counties will follow.
Been waiting for six years now. Like I said, probably a moot point soon as they will try to ban all semi autos soon.
That's why I got rid of my two. I can't do time for a stupid toy with a fixed magazine if the unlikely event every happened. For that level of risk, I'll just run a regular one. But I'm not that stupid either so I'll just keep things that are 100 percent legal with no features for the next 11 to 12 years.
I have been considering the Troy Pump for that reason but am still waiting.

This is what happened to my friend's neighbor. He found out that his daughter was doing weed and his wife was buying it for her. He went ballistic breaking things in the house. The cops were called and the wife told them where his guns were after they asked her so that they can take them since it was a domestic violence incident. They found his AR. He plead out of the felony charge for lesser charges relating to the domestic incident.
