You're likely right, at least on the number of flu vs. Covid-19 deaths. But what most people aren't recognizing is that this has the potential to be much, much worse.

Especially, if our hospitals are swamped in a big rush at the same time with people who have severe symptoms. At least with the flu there's a vaccine that offers some immunity (yes, I know it's not 100% effective). This has none of that. With the flu we can give people Tamiflu and I believe some other antivirals. With Covid-19 treatments are still being studied and a vaccine is still in development and best case scenario won't be available to the public for another 12-18 months.

I don't advocate panic but I would not be taking this thing lightly.

At the percentage it is sold in bottles OTC, it is 3%. Toothpaste is less.

The reason it's no longer recommended for general wound cleaning is that at 3% it causes damage to surrounding healthy tissue, which prolongs wound healing.

But, as usual, YMMV.

No wonder I've got issues. I basically bathed in that stuff when I was young. Cuts, holes and scrapes everywhere as a kid.
