It looks like the turtle sucked up to Trump for as long as he needed to, but not a second more than that.
Are any of you really surprised? McCuckle is an establishment RINO, always has been. Trump was merely the latest avatar for the rising populist movement. The establishment is going to clamp down hard but politicians like McConnell and Pelosi are dinosaurs on the verge of extinction and they know it. They are desperate and will do any evil, dirty thing they can to stop the populist tidal wave. In the end they will be drowned in it. Hold fast people.

Not a Paul Ryan fan, but I know for a fact some of the 2A stuff we blame on him was actually orchestrated and blocked by McConnell.
Specifically there were two shots at National Retropocity Ryan was on board with as a tack on with a simple Senate majority that McConnell blocked. McConnell took a position of only one showcase add on per shot.
McConnell would not let it be added at the time of the successful Tax Reform bill simple majority chance, nor at the time of the Obamacare repeal simple majority failure.
There were no other shots for 2A bills (that actually would have passed in Congress) because McConnell would not accept them unless he knew he could garner the 60 votes for cloture. To save his ego, Mitch gave anti 2A Rino and Democrat Senators in Red States a pass on voting against 2A and killed shots at National Retropocity.
