Melting point law ?!?!

Ordered a Walther PPQ 22 from Bud's today and shortly thereafter received an e-mail stating that they can't ship the gun to me because it's not compliant in New York due to the melting point law. Pardon my French, but what the fuck is that? So, is there no-one in N.Y.with a PPQ 22 or is Bud's just being douchey? Er, douche like.

I am not a lawyer, but as I've always read it, the melting point law applies to the manufacture of firearms in New York by those licensed to do so. I've never found anything on the books in regards to sales and ownership.

This is simply another Leftist Progressive maneuver to eliminate firearms. After all, if a firearm can fire a few thousand rounds reliably, who cares if some part of the gun's internals melts at "only" 850F?

Therefore, those citizens with more limited economic means are less able to purchase firearms.

lack adequate safety and accuracy mechanisms and, thus, are not useful
to sportsmen;" (2) handguns not meeting the melting-point requirements

As usual, I find the supporting arguments to be arbitrary and not based on real science. The negative arguments appear stronger.

That's what I was referring to. They're cheaper, so, lower socio-economic status individuals can afford them, and they're more likely to use them in the commission of crimes. Yeah, cuz so many criminals legitimately buy their own guns.

Easier removal of serial numbers... ummm. Yeah, which probably translates to a minute more of grinding

Harder to trace with ballistics. Again, no. Cheaper = more identifiable variation due to lower quality control and looser tolerances.
