Whole thread reads like a state troll trying to test comments.

this I dont understand. First we can only use deadly force to prevent murder, assault, rape, kidnap, robbery....but according to the above we can use deadly force to stop a burglary? under what circumstances would it be ok to shoot someone to stop them from stealing your silverware?

I swear, some people are just begging for bans lately (and as much as we don't like banning anyone, a couple of members have gotten/earned some significant ones.. though to be clear that isn't from this sort of nonsense, but rather the serious bigotry stuff). I don't know what the heck is going on.
It really should not be (and never has been) at all difficult to follow our loose rules and avoid our incredibly scant moderation.
As to this issue specifically.. how many times does it need to be said ? Having some different opinions than you doesn't make someone a 'troll', and it doesn't make them not welcome here. This place was never meant to be an echo chamber. If you don't want to interact with someone.. don't. It would certainly be nice if people could address differences of opinion with rational points and counterpoints.. you know, like reasonable grown adults; rather than with with personal attacks and incredibly childish BS.
Anyway @ronstar .. eh , welcome to the forum.
All that said, I'm going to agree with my wise colleague's decision and leave this particular thread closed to further replies.
